A single lorry can carry 600KW of solar panels like this. Enough to supply a large factory, office tower block or 200 homes. And can be delivered anywhere. A 600KW diesel generator weighs 10 tons and uses 172 litres of Diesel an hour. Fossil Fuel is dead.
Volcaholic 🌋@volcaholic1

China is using folding mobile photovoltaic power stations, long strips of solar panels that unfold to quickly generate electricity, bringing clean power to construction sites, disaster zones, and remote areas.

Drill Baby Drill is a fantasy, what a surprise. And global markets set the price we pay for our own North Sea oil and gas - this is the reason. I’ve been saying it for years - this report from Oxford, reported by GB News - confirms it all. This is a fossil fuel crisis and we can't solve it by pouring more oil onto the fire. We need to end our ruinous dependency on fossil fuels and global markets setting the price we pay for that and for our own green energy (the most stupid policy in the world of energy?). True energy independence is to power ourselves with green energy made and priced here. Until we have that we’ll suffer massive economic harm every few years on the rollercoaster of global oil markets. gbnews.com/money/north-se…

Ratcliffe is incoherent - all of the oil and gas we produce here in Britain is sold at the global market price. No amount of oil produced here can in that case save us a single penny. Importing fossil fuels does not mean we pay more. Drilling in the north sea will take years to deliver globally priced fossil fuels and Rosebank will cost nearly £3 Bn in tax payer subsidies to it’s Norwegian owners - and….none of the oil will land here in Britain. So what sense is Ratcliffe making here, other than to shareholders in Rosebank and other oil companies. This is another fossil fuel crisis and we can’t solve it or help ourselves at all - by pouring more oil onto it. telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

Isn't it interesting that all those people who want women in Iran to be free to wear whatever they like, are up in arms about Green MP Hannah Spencer wearing what she likes. In fact most have a history of controlling what women can and can't wear. 😬🤦🤷

Words I heard recently that stuck with me: “Culture is the vibe we set and the standard we practice.” Not the posters on the wall. Not just what we say. It’s the actions we repeat every single day.

For two hours, once a year, for a quarter of a century, the entire rugby world came together and wished for the same result. And this week, 115 years after rugby first arrived in Italy, they finally defeats the sport's creators: We break down exactly how- youtu.be/xkjSntg4WpM

If your energy needs are met from solar, wind, tidal, geothermal and nuclear sources, backed by copious battery storage, you're far less vulnerable to sudden crazy oil and gas price spikes. Trump's war on Iran is the best possible ad for accelerating the greening of the economy.

Our mainstream media simply refuses to educate the public about the collapsing ecosystems and climate. It’s baffling. We’ve gone from being a country seen as one of the most academic, artistic and creative in the world, to one that is killing itself because we’ve become anti-intellectualised, infantilised and cynical. We’ve become culturally stupid. All the media can stretch to is phone in discussions about benefits and immigration. The staff are not intellectually able to grasp what rising temperatures mean - the threat of new diseases, war over water, a collapsing insurance industry, rising sea levels, the impact of microplastics or Forever chemicals. A lot of us are going to die as the planet gets hotter and food production dwindles, which has started already. They cannot understand that this is unlike any other threat we have ever faced and that it is irreversible, impacting all generations that come after us for tens of thousands of years. And the media presents it like a lifestyle issue you might read about in a magazine in the dentists. The media, politicians and the super-rid have destroyed us.

Impulse control isn't a behaviour problem, its brain development,an under developed cortex. Children do not learn self control through behaviour charts, punishment, isolation or shame. They learn it through co-regulation, connection & practice.🧠🌱

My brother asked his 14 year old daughter if she ever thought about being a teacher. She responded: “Yes… but only a certain kind of teacher… a teacher like Miss Amanda.” He asked what she meant. She replied: “It’s how I think she makes her students feel. Do you remember what it was like to walk into her classroom? You could tell that Miss Amanda loved her students. And you could tell she was creative but also organized, smart but also fun. I would want to be that kind of teacher.”

Some adults can think back to a single teacher who didn’t give up on them -- who helped them get it turned around.  You can be that teacher!
