LASUBEB PARTNERS SIKIRABU AFRICA LTD TO PROMOTE YORUBA LANGUAGE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL BOARD GAME The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), in collaboration with SIKIRABU Africa Ltd, officially flagged off SIKIRABU recently, an innovative Yoruba board game designed to promote the teaching and learning of the Yoruba language in public primary schools across Lagos State. The initiative forms part of the State Government’s continuous efforts to preserve indigenous language, culture and values among pupils through creative and engaging learning methods. Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu, described the introduction of the educational board game as a strategic step towards strengthening pupils’ interest and proficiency in the Yoruba language. According to him, language remains a vital aspect of cultural identity and heritage, stressing that the Board is committed to ensuring that young learners embrace and appreciate their indigenous language from an early stage. The Executive Chairman further urged pupils to ensure that the educational board game does not become addictive or distract them from their academic activities, stressing the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between learning and recreation. He also called on parents to key into the initiative by encouraging their children to participate in the game as a productive tool for learning and preserving the Yoruba language and cultural heritage. @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @gbenga_omo @gboyegaakosile @LanreBajulaiye @BarrBimbola @Mr_JAGs @Riddwane #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG

LASCOPA WARNS CONSUMERS AGAINST CONSUMPTION OF SPOILED TOMATOES  The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), has warned residents against the consumption of spoiled or fungus-infested tomatoes popularly known as “Ata Esha,” citing serious health risks associated with such products. The General Manager of the Agency, Afolabi Solebo, urged consumers to avoid purchasing or consuming tomatoes showing visible white, green, or black fungal growth. According to him, fungi found on spoiled tomatoes may produce harmful toxins, including aflatoxins, which can lead to severe health complications such as liver damage and other related diseases. Speaking on the importance of healthy food consumption, Solebo stated that “a healthy person is determined by what he or she consumes from time to time.” He further explained that cooking, boiling, or frying contaminated tomatoes may not eliminate the harmful toxins, thereby making such food unsafe for human consumption. The General Manager also cautioned consumers against purchasing spoiled tomatoes because they are cheaper, stressing that health and safety should always take precedence over cost considerations. Solebo encouraged Lagos residents to carefully inspect food items before purchase and avoid visibly spoiled or mouldy tomatoes and other food products. He also advised consumers to properly dispose of contaminated food items and report the sale of unsafe, expired, or spoiled products to the appropriate government agencies responsible for public health, environmental safety, and consumer protection. Furthermore, he noted that consumers have fundamental rights as well as responsibilities, including being well-informed about products and services, speaking out against unfair practices, and making ethical and environmentally conscious choices. Solebo disclosed that government monitoring and enforcement teams have been deployed to markets across the State to apprehend traders engaged in the sale of unsafe food products. @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @lasgcopa @gbenga_omo @gboyegaakosile @LanreBajulaiye @BarrBimbola @Mr_JAGs @Riddwane #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG
