Has Bhim Army joined hands with missionaries to convert tribals in MP’s Sehore? A major controversy erupted in Sehore, MP, after Bhim Army district president Mukesh Azad’s name started surfacing in conversion activities. It has been alleged that he, along with others in village are facilitating conversion of Hindus from Barela tribe. In a late night gathering (prayer meet), tribals caught him and confronted, to which he threatened, saying, “I will do conversion. What will you do. Come after me?” This minor altercation turned into a spat, with both sides getting hurt. He is now politicising the whole matter calling it an attack on himself and covering up the conversion issue. Reportedly, over the last one year many villagers have been converted to Christianity. Some hail cures from ailments while others prefer Jesus over their gods. The demography is changing, with number of converts rising and those protecting their dharma facing threats.
