🫡 @USArmy is such a class act. I hate when PSU plays them in anything. My Dad was US Army. 🔴⚪️🔵 The cadets stood on the sideline at attention while PSU sang their alma mater. Did not exit the field till it was over. Nittany Lions advance on to quarters vs Princeton. Army returns to defending our freedom. 🇺🇸

RHOADES TRIP: Every PSU coach takes recruits to The Original Waffle Shop on N Atherton. 3 in town. The one on 26 is brand new. The one in town is right in town (horrible parking/dingiest of them all). But they all come here: football/wrestling/basketball/etc. The entire hoops coaching staff arrived. Taylor Battle, our old PG. Coach Rhoades arrived with the recruit last. Spotted my buddy Mark Tygel. Mega-donor. Wing of arboretum named after him. Rhodes spent ten mins chatting with us. Knows he is in a bind with NIL: “I’m not asking to be at the top of the B1G. Just somewhere in the middle. Give us a chance.” PSU ranks dead last of the 18 teams: $3M per. UM = $13M. Ohio State & Oregon up there he said. Carey Booth, son of Calvin (new hoops advisor/former legendary PSU player/@nuggets GM), is not coming to PSU (again). He is headed to the Rockies: CSU. Asked about replacing the BJC: “It’s serviceable. More concerned with evening the field with quality players.” Told us that he had to dip into his own personal funds to pay a half-million in committed NIL at season end. Likely to Mingo (who is long gone). Should never have to happen. He mentioned hoops being only one of two teams to turn a profit (football). The recruit: Brant Byers. 6’9” guard. Sharpshooter from Miami Of Ohio. Won the MAC. Played TENNESSEE in March Madness. Born in Chambersburg. Two yrs of eligibility left.
