#ThursdayTasteTreat: Kitchen Garden Had breakfast at the hottest new place in Happy Valley. Again. Reviewed it about a month ago on here (4.5 buttons out of 5). Just as incredible today. Had their meat lovers omelet with a side of their home fries. Their recipes feature homemade Persian delicacies. Meats I never heard of. Mouthwatering. Again. Teas. Iced teas. Coffees. Iced coffees. Stunning decor. Mammoth. Immaculately clean. Incredible lounge area inside the front door where readers can relax on couches/comfy chairs straight out of a 5-star hotel (like the Nittany Lion Inn). Can pop open your laptop or tablet/sip on your perfectly-crafted brew and much on one of their pastries. 🥐 Can’t wait to try it for lunch. 🥙 Met Kayla, one of the owners. Penn Stater. Class of 2023. High honors in computer science. Helping her parents get this place going. Delightful. Her receptionist is on the PSU rugby team. Could double as their bouncer. This is a Nittany Lion operation through & through. Location is so close to Beaver Stadium/BJC/Pegula. 5 mins from town. Ideal setting for a graduation party/retirement function/business confab/private affair/etc. I’m holding my wedding reception there. All I need is a fiancé. Dirty Half-Dozen Landing Spots for BIG GAME JAMES 1. Arkansas — Ton of oil multi-millionaires got Calipari from Kentucky hoops. They long to be relevant in SEC football. Willing to pour megabucks out like moonshine. 2. Virginia Tech — Failed with one PSU coach (Pry). Try/try again. Lot easier to become relevant in much-weaker ACC. Another school aching to be big-time. Just coughed up beaucoup dollars for our old friend Bo Bassett & his more-talented step brother Melvin Miller to make their wrestling quasi-relevant. 3. Michigan State — Ate a ton of money on disastrous Mel Tucker fiasco. No sorority would be safe with Urban Meyer & him in the same location. Izzo turns 71 soon. Spartan basketball on respirator. 4. Auburn — If you can’t beat him, hire him. Franklin never beat ranked teams but did knock off War Eagles back-to-back. They long to be competitive after Freeze fiasco. 5. FSU — Snapped their 9-game ACC losing streak Saturday. Still will be looking for new coach. Fertile recruiting ground. The glorious Paterno vs Bowden days rekindled with Hartline vs Franklin. 6. Maryland — Franklin was “coach-in-waiting” in College Park. Friedgen’ Orange Bowl year derailed plans. Unfortunately lead to Franklin ending up in Happy Valley. Knows the DMV well. Terps have two of their three career wins vs PSU in history (3-44-1) vs Franklin. Always wanted to be PSU’ rival.
