I’ve had several home service companies sign up for Scorecard (homeservicescorecard.com) in the last few days for one simple reason:
They’re tired of guessing.
Spreadsheets don’t coach.
Dashboards don’t motivate.
Reports don’t tell you what to do next.
If you have goals, you need to know the levers and if you’re winning daily.
As one customer told me:
“I don’t have anything helping me operationally progress to $10M.”
Scorecard is that tool.

Dental office buildout part 4
Walls are mostly sheet rocked and the concrete trenches have been refilled.
They’re going to start painting next week.
In the background all the business stuff like payroll, bank accounts, GBP, website and PMS has been setup and is ready for opening day.

Dental office buildout part 3 Electrical and plumbing nearly completed. These interior buildouts can be completed in 3 months if you use a good GC.

@MarketPalmer_ Those parents don't have real jobs and eat crayons.

ME: Daycare is expensive, but worth it.
THEM: Why would you pay to have someone else raise your kids?
ME: They're not raising my kids, they're taking care of them while we work.
THEM: One of you should quit your job so you aren't handing your kids off to strangers each day.
ME: They're not strangers, they're professionals. And we'd have even less money if one of us stayed at home with the kids.
THEM: It shouldn't be about money, it should be about bonding with your kids.
ME: Kids need bonding with more than just their parents. Their daycare teachers and other kids at daycare are some of their best friends, and they're excited to go each day.
THEM: You're letting them get indoctrinated by today's education system and propaganda.
ME: They're literally learning colors, the ABCs, and how to count to 10.
THEM: Some parents just don't want to be parents!
ME: *stops arguing with a wall*

@tradeschoolpro These numbers can't be accurate. I can't get people to show up to cut grass for $50k

HVAC vs Plumbing — which trade pays more?
The honest answer: they're almost identical.
HVAC median salary: $61,590
Plumbing median salary: $61,550
That's a $40 difference.
The real difference is in the work itself. HVAC is more diagnostic — you're troubleshooting systems, reading gauges, solving puzzles. Plumbing is more physical — crawl spaces, emergency calls at 2am, but straightforward problem-solving.
Both trades have top earners clearing six figures. Both face massive labor shortages. Both can lead to owning your own business.
The best trade isn't the one that pays more. It's the one that fits how you actually want to spend your days.

@adcwaste It's a circle jerk. But off this one post I'll sell a decent size project due to one convo about it from a friend who's a corporate bro

I think LinkedIn can be mastered. You’re spot on about folk tooting their own horn. But if you can lean into and reaffirm people or even publicly toot their horn for them, it can lead to a lot of work
My first four years, I went fullsteam on LinkedIn. And it became my number one lead source. I won’t lie, in the last year I’ve lost my motivation so I’m not as active, but I don’t recommend sleeping on LinkedIn. People are just using it wrong.

Here is my contribution of the day.
The industry that I tried rolling up but could not gain traction?
Residential irrigation.
I love...(repeat)...LOVE residential irrigation.
A-MAZ-ING business.
I just could not get traction/momentum.
I hope somebody sees this and does it.
Send me a check when you sell for $$$$$$

@RealPlantBrah Tell her you're no longer servicing her place and move on. Not worth it.

@PTI_Turf $120/mo for 5 trackers. They integrate with my CRM so I can see Job clock in & out discrepancies

One of my best friends is my direct competitor. I met him in the business. No hostility, no stealing of customers. If a project is too large we tag team it. If trucks have problems or employees call out, we fill in where needed. And I don’t think either has kept a tally mark of who owes who what. (Granted I always try to outweigh what I consume in the means of favors)
English

@PTI_Turf Sounds like you just don’t want us stealing your silt fence jobs!! 😂
