For the fourth straight day, Las Vegas smashed the daily record high temperature, soaring to 96°F at the airport. The previous record was a relatively chilly 92°F, set in 2004.

With profound sadness, we share the passing of retired K-9 Ryker, who dedicated a decade to protecting our community. Born in Romania on March 12, 2012, Ryker joined the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office in August of that year expertly trained in patrol work and bomb detection with his handler, Deputy Brian Biegel (retired). After 10 years of loyal service, K-9 Ryker enjoyed a well-deserved retirement with the Biegel family. He passed peacefully on March 17. K-9 Ryker, thank you for your bravery and unwavering commitment. You will be missed. 🐾🙏
