3 years today I qualified. One of the hardest but most rewarding journeys of my life. Very lucky to have spent it with @AMU_Tavy 💗

A quarter of a BILLION pounds of public money for an unnecessary and brief ceremony, but they can’t find funds for NHS staff to be paid properly, and food bank use is at an unprecedented high. Tell me again how they’re focusing on what the people want

You couldn't make this up First the government try to kill us with incorrect PPE Then they clap us as heroes But they won't give us fair pay But they will give us the George Cross And now they want to take us to court or strike us off for fighting back Thanks Tories #bullybarclay #stevewontsilenceus

Immensely proud of the nurses for rejecting the 5% pay offer and bribe of a couple of grand. It’s well below inflation and was set to pay them off in the short term whilst undervaluing in the long. There’s been years of this and workers have had enough. Well done ✊

Today our strike action begins, and nursing staff need your solidarity. Share this if you stand with those fighting for a safer future for nursing, patients, and the NHS. #RCNStrike #FairPayForNursing

@Roxy_PUNC21 @Cleo_PUNC21 I may be a little biased but MAU is such a great environment to experience as a student. Let me know if you have any questions ☺️

Can anyone give me some ideas for optional placements? I couldn’t get critical care in the trust I wanted. I would like something where I will learn a lot X

@SussexBoil @BeardedBrownMa1 @CaraLisette I had a similar experience and lived with parents which offloaded some pressure but not everyone is as fortunate to enter training straight from school and have parental support. The retention/pressure issues start before people even qualify which is sad and needs addressing

@PUNCbethanieb @BeardedBrownMa1 @CaraLisette My daughter qualified earlier this year with massive student debt and a frankly horrible three years to show for it. She was, essentially, forced to provide free labour as a HCA in nearly all of her placements, while we managed to absorb the costs of her commute and parking.

Sincere thread for people who aren’t sure about why nurses are striking: Nursing is one of the lowest paid graduate jobs in the country. A newly qualified nurse will go in at £27k a year but with significant debt, having worked for free for three years prior to qualifying. 1/
