I went to Jason Garrett’s new restaurant in Dallas last night and he showed up. When I met him, I so badly wanted to say “Go Birds” and bust his balls about the Eagles’ recent success, but he’s actually a really cool dude and what I respect is he went up to every single table throughout the night, introduced himself, shook hands, laughed and conversed with customers. He also said “I can tell your from Philly. I love Philly, man.” So, if you’re in Dallas, hit up Caffe Luca. It’s an Italian, Sicilian themed spot and he paired up with a chef who has some Michelin rated places, so the menu is amazing. Jason’s recommendation: peanut butter espresso martini. Is anyone else completely terrified of death? It's been on my mind a lot recently and makes me panic. The idea of it all just being gone in an instant. No feelings, no thoughts, it can just be over in the blink of an eye before you know it. I also can't deal with the fact that there's likely nothing else after. Do we go anywhere? Does our consciousness carry on? If we have souls, do they keep living? Is reincarnation a thing? Is our energy still there? I just can't get my head around the fact we were given life, and the universe was created by something as insane as the big bang, for it then to just all disappear without a moments notice. I can't accept that I would lose everything - my wife, kids, home, everything I've worked for - just to have it taken away. The thought of never seeing my children again makes my whole body tense up. If there's nothing after, what is the point of living? Is it better to slip away not knowing, or better to know it's coming so you can make peace and say your goodbyes?
