@BGMediaOnSI Congrats on your work and rise up! Been following you for awhile and you definitely took as much if not more hits than anyone in this Rams-verse. You have been a great follow and I've agreed with you more than not. Hope you keep rising and stay strong.

Have been doing my Snead's Snacks series for Rams draft fits since 2020. Keagen Trost and CJ Daniels were hits number 18 and 19 for me. That's an average of 2.7 per season. For a team that's unpredictable with the draft process, I feel pretty good about that.

@SamMonsonNFL Any receiver the Rams drafted this year would've been the 4th target at best. They have 2 top receivers, legit 3 deep TE targets, plus RBs. They also have to beat out wrs who have been in the system.

We talked about this on the show today a bit. The perfect parallel is when GB drafted Jordan Love. They could have had Tee Higgins. That year, they lost by 5 in the NFCCG when Davante Adams had 15 targets and the next GB WR had 6. Higgins had ~900 yards as a rookie. Would he have been the difference? Not sure, but you can't definitively say no. That's basically the debate each team had. Does this WR get us another ring while our old QB is still going vs will the QB secure the next decade after transition? I think arguing either side is reasonable.

@BGMediaOnSI How many ppl remember who was KC's #3 WR on their championship yrs? Me neither. The Rams drafted their #3 last yr. I agree that Ferguson is gonna have his opportunity.

If the Rams move to more 12/13P as expected, value of the WR3 goes down. Terrance Ferguson is expected to take that next step. He becomes WR3. Parkinson got more involved in the passing game. It's going to be an adjustment, but need to think about the offense differently.

@RamsBrothers People in an uproar abt not drafting a #3 target makes me wonder if they've paid attn the last 8 yrs. McVay & Stafford create targets. It may go to a 3rd wr, TE, RB & even that is about 4-7 targets a gm. They want a backup for Adams, but not for Stafford?

“The Rams don’t have a third pass catcher” I mean, Higbee, Parkinson, Ferguson, Klare, Whittington, Mumpfield, Daniels, Xavier Smith… not to mention the RB’s, who they started getting involved in the passing game late in the season. Are those 8 players capable of being the collective third pass catcher? I would say yes.

@JourdanRodrigue After nearly 10 yrs w/ Le+Vay & your reporting of how they operate, you would think Rams fans would know them better. They draft for 2 yrs in advance & they draft to fit their system. McVay has his TE threats as his #3 & 4 options.

A lot of teams’ fans were vocal about TE picks yesterday. But I expect 12 and 13 personnel usage to keep increasing. And if you want real flexibility to move between 11 personnel and 12 or 13, coaches know you need four playable TEs and some teams will activate them all or more.

You would think the Rams would go either WR or LB with this third-round pick -- their last until the sixth round. But based on how this draft has gone, maybe they'll go RB or S. Curveballs on curveballs.

@BGMediaOnSI @3k_ The Rams have consistently drafted for 2 years later. They draft to cover the contracts that they can't extend. Day 2 & 3 will tell us a lot about who will and wont be extended.

@3k_ Dude...it's been driving me crazy for a month and a half. The concept of "All in" and the draft do not exist. Needs are always changing. If I hear the words "all in", "impact", or "win now" when it comes to anything this weekend one more time...

Not sure what it's going to take (because we're not close), but people have to come to grips that you literally can't draft a player specifically for the upcoming season. It's a fallacy that fans keep buying into and teams are incapable of.

I’ve covered a lot of first-round pick pressers across four beats. This was by far the most muted I have seen a regime about the player they drafted.

@vyrv_ Not directed at you, but fans (me included) talk abt trading back as if the Rams weren't aware or didn't try. Rumors are mostly smokescreens. Every yr, players drop & get taken higher than the rumors. I'm gonna hope for the best.

I think the thing that kinda bothers me a little is that maybe we could have traded down and still gotten him. There were a ton of rumors that he might not even go in the first

@BGMediaOnSI We shouldn't be surprised by this. We should know Les+Sean speak by now. They told us they had to balance future w/ the here & now. They told us Stafford is a yr to yr decision. How this yr goes will determine the direction for all their extns. 1 yr under Stafford is valuable.

Can't wait for Ty Simpson to get the "Tutu Atwell treatment" from the fanbase b/c the Rams took him instead of Makai Lemon/Creed Humphrey. End of the day, gotta give him a chance and trust the coaching staff. Rams have their guy after Stafford. That should be exciting.
