I’m getting financially raped
>want to apply for mortgage
>deposit mid 6 figs into UK bank account for the last 2 years
>great credit score, no debt
>literally just want a £50k house to be on the property ladder
>can easily buy a £50k house in cash several times over
>told im not eligible for a mortgage because my income is “inconsistent”
>told no mortgage because i “don’t pay income tax and they need tax returns”
>i ask him if i can get a letter from HMRC showing my income and my 0% tax rate as proof
>he says no because the “system won’t accept 0% tax”
>i ask if im basically suffering from success, he says “yes”
>ask if i could buy 3 or so homes for £50k each in cash and borrow against that in the future for a stupidly small amount
>he says no due to tax situation
>he says they find having more than 2 sources of income as an issue because it’s “complex”
>he recommends i get a normie job for 3 months that pays £3k/m so im eligible for a mortgage
This is retarded. They don’t trust me with a £100/m mortgage with a 75% deposit when I could buy a property outright

Artificial intelligence will eliminate an estimated 85 million jobs in the next decade
White collar jobs. Not just factory work.
Accountants. Paralegals. Radiologists. Writers. Customer service. Coders
The trades will survive
The electrician. The plumber. The welder. The HVAC guy
Nobody can automate a man with his hands in the wall 🔧

The new CRO proposal introduces a different approach to staking.
These are not traditional lock periods.
They are pre-exit notice tiers.
You keep earning the APY of your selected tier until you decide to exit.
Only then does the countdown begin.
• 3% → No notice
• 5% → 1-year notice
• 7% → 2-year notice
• 10% → 4-year notice
A model designed for long-term alignment while keeping flexibility for users.

It seems that a Henry knocks spots off anything else out there, according to todays Great Vacuum Debate.
Dyson's are for the Audi-driving pseudo-middle class.
Shark are bought by people who think Gold Blend coffee is posh.
But you'll never see a tradesman cleaning up with either - they always have a Henry in the back of their van because they are indestructible..

@czterylitery1 @Karol1669024 Przeciez to spiseg na bank!
Polski

Próbki wykazały bardzo niskie stężenia uranu i toru, zbliżone do naturalnego tła geochemicznego i wielokrotnie niższe niż w złożach o wartości przemysłowej.

Businessman Luke Perret, 31, has been ordered to tear down his £200,000 garden annexe after Warrington Borough Council ruled it was actually a full two-bed home with a basement, study room and walk-in wardrobe.
He built the detached property over three years intending it as a one-bed annexe for his mother-in-law, but the council says it was materially different from the 2020 approved plans and constructed without proper consent.
The original permission had expired because work was not started in time, and two retrospective appeals were dismissed.
Perret, who owns a tech shop, said “I’m not paying a penny to have a perfectly good house knocked down. They are the ones who will have to pay for it – because I’m not.”
He is preparing a revised planning application and has offered to remodel the building by removing dormers and reducing the height by 1.5 metres.

@PeverellTom @CallumLyon Buahaha 120 for 4 adults a week?! 🤣🤣🤣 what you eating sand from bnq? 😂
English

Minimum wage is not meant for this. Most ppl on minimum wage are kids out of school or students, all still living at home. If you rent a place by yourself you should have a better wage. How are you spending £350 on utilities on 1 person!! And food for one person £70 a week! I shop for 4 working adults and probably average £120.
English

How the fk are people working full time on minimum wage in the UK meant to actually survive alone? The maths just doesn't add up:
Take home pay after tax, national insurance and pension contributions for a 37.5 hour work week (because let's face it, all these employers who really care about you don't pay you for your breaks so you're not getting a full 40 hours) is around £1700
You're lucky to rent anywhere nowadays under £800.
Council Tax is now around £220 a month.
Utilities are at least another £350.
Then there's the weekly food shop, you're looking at a minimum of £70 a week.
Just with the basics in this scenario you're left with £50 to last you the whole month. And that's without even adding transport or anything going wrong.
Minimum.wage in the UK does not cover minimum living requirements. Something really needs to change. No wonder nobody wants to work anymore.

@DividendDrip Not many have 500 at 18 lol I wouldn't be able to spare 20 quid at 18 lol
English

3 years have passed since I started investing, yet I have one massive financial regret.
Not starting earlier.
Since the age of 18, I’m now 27, 9 years have passed. £500 a month (which I do now) and started 9 years earlier I would have £121,000.
If I then didn’t invest a single penny again: assuming similar returns from the S&P 500, this would grow to £2.11 million. Without me doing ANYTHING.
Compounding.

-wszędzie dziwnie zorganizowana tabletoza z prawie zawsze beznadziejnym UX

People keep asking me why I'm so bullish on $CRO.
This is why.
@Fwiz just laid out the clearest roadmap I've seen from any L1 team in years. Sign-ups mid-May. Internal dogfood already live. Closed beta in June. Then perps, prediction markets and the full stack drops.
Think about what that actually means. Crypto.com has 150 million users sitting on the sidelines. The Cronos App is the on-ramp that brings them on-chain. When that closed beta goes full public you are not going to be ahead of that wave, you are going to be looking back at when you had the chance.
Most chains promise. This one is showing you the calendar.
Ryan Wyatt@Fwiz
Stay locked in. $CRO.

Cancer cells have a problem.
They cannot run on fat.
Healthy cells in your body, properly metabolically flexible cells, can switch between glucose and ketones depending on what's available. They evolved to do this. They are good at it. Your brain in particular runs beautifully on ketones, which is why an adapted carnivore can think clearly through a 36 hour fast and a fed vegan can't remember what he came into the kitchen for.
Cancer cells cannot do this. The mitochondria in tumour cells are damaged. They are stuck on glucose, almost exclusively, fermenting it inefficiently in the presence of oxygen. Otto Warburg observed this in the 1920s. He won a Nobel Prize for it. Then we spent the next century pretending he hadn't.
The treatment implication writes itself. Lower the available glucose, raise ketones, and you starve the tumour while the rest of the body switches to its backup fuel and carries on. There are now multiple human trials showing improved outcomes when therapeutic ketosis is added to standard oncology, particularly for glioblastoma, where conventional treatment has hardly moved in forty years.
It is cheap. It is non-toxic. It is metabolically gentler than chemotherapy. It is, in many cases, additive rather than alternative.
It is also not patentable.
Which is why you have probably never been told about it by anyone with a prescription pad.
The metabolic theory of cancer is not fringe. It is not new. It is not unsupported. It is simply unprofitable, which in modern medicine is the same thing as untrue.

In 2008, Robin Williams was just days away from kicking off a $10 million world tour. Everything was set, venues booked, tickets sold, fans waiting.
Then he found out something at home that changed everything.
His wife, Marsha, had been quietly struggling with severe depression. Without making a public statement or offering any explanation, Robin canceled the entire tour.
Producers were furious. Lawsuits were threatened. To the outside world, it looked like he was walking away from his career at its peak.
But Robin didn’t argue. He didn’t explain.
Instead, he stayed home.
For the next year, he focused entirely on being there for her making breakfast, sitting through every therapy session, and showing up in the small, steady ways that mattered most.
When she finally told him he could return to work, his response was simple:
Money comes back. Time doesn’t.
And for him, the choice was never a question.
