Finance Minister @MatiaK5 today met the British High Commissioner H.E. Lisa Chesney MBE who paid a courtesy call on him at the Finance Ministry.
The Minister and the British High Commissioner discussed the long standing partnership between the UK Government and Uganda.
The discussions centered on key areas such as infrastructure development under the UK Export Finance (UK-EF) program,climate finance, and other collaborative initiatives.
@MatiaK5 underscored the significance of creating green jobs for the youth,aligning with Uganda’s industrialization and sustainable development goals.
H.E. Chesney on her part reiterated the UK Government’s commitment to promoting sustainable economic growth and commended @mofpedU for its exemplary role in mobilizing climate finance across Africa through the Climate Finance Unit.

⚡This week, we welcomed @MitActFacility for an in-depth assessment of our "Sustainable Power and Resilience for Colombia's Energy Communities" project proposal. This visit facilitated engaging discussions with @MinEnergiaCo, @MinAmbienteCo, @FondoFenoge, @FNGSA, @Superservicios, and allies from the public, private and finance sector such as @EPMestamosahi, @el_BID, @Davivienda, @ECOPETROL_SA and @intercolombia, paving the way for collaborative energy solutions.

Realizamos el panel "Perspectivas de Bioeconomía en el Territorio", con la moderación de @GGGICol y la participación de representantes del @MincomercioCo, @InnpulsaCol, @UKinColombia, @CComerciosanjos, @GoberGuaviare, Planeación Guaviare, @InstitutoSINCHI y ADEMI Amazonas.
Discutimos sobre cómo la bioeconomía puede contribuir al cierre de brechas territoriales, ofreciendo oportunidades de reindustrialización y enfrentando los desafíos de comercialización nacional e internacional.
Se resaltó que es esencial adoptar una visión compartida de la bioeconomía en la que todos los actores tomen responsabilidad. Para esto, reiteraron la necesidad de crear más espacios de coordinación para fortalecer la bioeconomía regional y enriquecer el aprendizaje continuo.

#GuaviareCreceVerde | ¡Realizamos el taller "Bioeconomía: vocación de #DesarrolloSostenible del Territorio"!, apoyado por @MincomercioCo y el programa #UKPACT de @UKinColombia. Oriana Díaz, investigadora de @InstitutoSINCHI, presentó el contexto de la Bioeconomía en el Meta y Guaviare, destacando cómo se avanza en la región para gestionar su biodiversidad y biomasa de manera eficiente para crear valor agregado mediante la innovación. Además, Kelly Castañeda, directora de planeación de @GoberGuaviare, compartió cómo se ha integrado la bioeconomía en el departamento a través del Plan Estratégico de CTi del sector Agropecuario, resaltando los avances de política pública en CTI y el Plan de Desarrollo Departamental.

🌱🤝 ¡#ColombiaCreceVerde con la formalización del Acuerdo Sede entre #GGGI y Colombia! Hoy, la viceministra de Asuntos Multilaterales, @etaylorjay, otorgó a nuestro representante de país, @PabloGGGI, el beneplácito de @CancilleriaCol.
Formalizado mediante la Ley 2218 de 2020, este Acuerdo dota de personería jurídica a @GGGICol en el país y habilita la cooperación en proyectos estratégicos para promover el desarrollo sostenible e inversiones verdes en 🇨🇴.
