After USSR attacked Finland in 1939, it was excluded from League of Nations, after Russian attack on Ukraine in 2022 it should be excluded from UN. Especially, if UN wants to be respected again.

I met with the President of Latvia, @EdgarsRinkevics. Security cooperation was our main focus. We count on signing an agreement with Latvia in the Drone Deal format to build a multi-layered air defense system against different types of threats. I proposed this cooperation to the President. We will send our experts to Latvia to exchange experience and provide direct assistance in protecting the airspace. It is important to work together to strengthen Europe’s defense. We also discussed the overall security situation in the region. The initial cause of all challenges and threats is Russia and its aggression. I am grateful that we share a common position on this. Special attention was given to diplomatic work and Ukraine’s European integration. It is important to open all negotiation clusters as soon as possible, and there are now favorable conditions for this. Latvia consistently supports us in this regard, and I am grateful for it.

I am not so much concerned if the U.S. withdraws 5,000 from Germany. These are highly qualified and very well-trained troops, for whom we are very grateful. If the U.S. were to decide to station these 5,000 troops further east in Europe - in Poland or Romania, for example - that would be a sign of deterrence and resolve, and a very wise move. I understand that German politicians could have tempered their criticism. After all, it is in our interest that Iran not acquire nuclear weapons and that Iranian terrorist groups stop terrorizing the region and Europe. As a country that depends on free trade, freedom of navigation is of great importance to us. What concerns me far more is the gap in deterrence that arises in Europe without the deployment of Tomahawk missiles. Europe has failed to develop these capabilities on its own early on. We should now work more closely with Ukraine to develop capabilities for precision strikes over long distances. @transhumaanists @Janis1983 @attistibai Mums ir 7000 ukraiņu bēgļu bērnu. Sen jau vajadzēja viņus perfekti integrēt latviešu skolās un vecākiem skaidri pateikt, kas jāizdara, ja grib palikt Latvijā. Mums,protams, neko nevajag, tad var arī neko nedarīt. Turpinam sūnu ciema dzīvi savos sapņos.
