“A significant proportion of manifested trucks are turned away with vital supplies. The world needs to know... This has to stop.” Mary Robinson and @HelenClarkNZ witness the devastating reality at the closed Rafah border with Gaza.

Superb speech by Albo. The pity is neither side thinks the electorate is sufficiently mature to hear stuff like this in a campaign. They’re too risk averse. He may grow more into the job now.

@AusHCVanuatu A big thank you to your staff member Victoria who helped a young woman traveling on her own at the airport when the quake struck. She went above and beyond.

We understand this is a challenging time and that connectivity remains difficult following the tragic events in Vanuatu. Our team is working hard, together with the Government of Vanuatu, to help get Australians home as a priority. [1/4]

Today’s earthquake has impacted the Australian High Commission’s communication systems. For 24-hour emergency consular assistance, call +61 6261 3305 from overseas or 1300 555 135 in Australia. We are working closely with the Vanuatu Government on an assistance operation.

I’d love to be corrected, how is a horse who earns its owners more than $7m in 25 races, forced to have nine foals ‘in retirement’ be anything more than a money making machine? This smacks of absolute greed to me. The poor beautiful thing. Shame on them. #BlackCaviar

I don’t want to start a ~ Pacific war ~ but I just finished my first trip to Samoa 🇼🇸. Am I wrong in saying they have the most beautiful and well-maintained villages in the Pacific? Stunning. ABC Samoa reporter Adel Fruean and I visited the ‘most beautiful’ (story coming soon)

So sick of arriving at Melbourne airport to find taxi drivers screaming at each other and others. It’s intimidating enough with poor lighting to be standing outside at 11pm without this shitshow. @Melair

A @CIJ_ICJ advisory opinion on #ClimateChange must reflect the urgency of UN resolution 77/276, clarifying states’ obligations towards frontline nations and present and future generations. We urge all states to respond to written submissions by 24 June 2024. #ICJAO4Climate

The scramble is on. Communities have come together to march against instability. Our Head of State is pondering the Council of Ministers decision to dissolve Parliament. Opposition numbers claim the absolute majority to change PM. Parents are skipping meals so children can eat.

Our @NDMO_Vanuatu is predicting 100% damage to gardens in the cyclone path. That is a health emergency in waiting. Crops have been suffering from El Nino and now, what little crops still surviving, we expect to be damaged. Rice and tuna can't be the only response. So we wait 🇻🇺💪🏾
