@roosterbra812 Mathurin was gone, but restricted. Should have been sign and trade. Unsure what metrics you’re using, but I haven’t seen any that has Zu as a top-10 center.

The problem is that Pacers fans are looking at this like we lost Dybantsa or DP or Boozer or Wilson for Zubac. We didn’t. We gave up Wagler or Flemings or Burries or Acuff. Was it a lot? Yes. Will it pay off? It very well could. But at least the front office believes in the core.

There are a lot of dumb takes about the Zubac trade now. I would've traded Mathurin, Acuff/Wagler and whatever late round pick goes in 2029 for Zubac. A healthy Pacers team is a EC favorite next year. Most of you have never watched Zubac play.

Trevino days would make sense to be off days for Hayes. Suarez at 3B will be a defensive hit but: Steer at 1B instead of OF is a boost. Benson to LF Marte to RF Stewart to DH Instead we get Marte playing against lefties that he can’t hit and sitting against righties. And our two worst hitters in the lineup. Bad, bad start from Tito. Nothing appears to have changed at all.

Damn I’m actually excited for reds baseball this year, love this lineup (Dane Myers should be playing vs a lefty but oh well)
