Really good look at the Rat function in Cover 1. The backer away from the back's release is the rat. Rat Backer: - Starts his eyes with the RB - Looks to the same side as the back for inbreaker - No inbreaker, then plays off QB - Cuts Drag - Star/DB can now become the new rat

ND Falcons Jab 1 Hole Cutup vs NC State. 1 Hole is probably the most version of 1 Robber that you see, especially in the NFL. The Rams and the Chargers both used it on 3rd Down when they were in Dime Personnel a fair amount.

Another Snap of 2 DBL Buzz Tampa, this time against NC State, but with no games upfront. Against Boise State, they ran Nob stunts out of both Over and Falcons, NC State, they were static up front.

ND 3 High 2 Spin Cutup vs NC State. In the first clip, they ran a Nob Stunt, and in the second clip, they ran a Jam stunt. Boundary Safety becomes the MRT, SS becomes the boundary 1/2, and the star becomes the field 1/2.

Falcons Jab 1 Hole cutup from the Boise State game. Falcons = Bigs to the Field (Atlanta = Falcons Load) Jab = Jack/EDGE spikes, 3T wraps. (Jam but to the 3T) Another good look at the difference between a Hole Safety and Cut/Cross Safety from an eye progression standpoint.

Notre Dame Double Buzz Tampa cutup from the Boise State. First clip, it's attached with a field front (3T to the field) with a nob stunt (Nose first, tackle second), while in the second clip, it's out of an Ox Front (Odd Front but with a Shade Nose).

ND Running Cheetah Invert Eyes against Boise State. ND's main change up outside of Cover 1 was spot drop 3, their invert 3 calls were a great way to create multiplicity and add some layers to their defense, with Eyes being a safe pressure to run.

Good example to see the difference between 1 Hole and 1 Cross for the Hole Safety. You can see, especially in the tight shot, the Hole Safety is playing off the vision of the QB, reading his eyes and letting the QB take him to the ball.

ND again running Roy, this time out of their Dime Rabbits package with an Atlanta Front and Nob stunt. Great rep of motor by Christian Gray. Jab step, inches back, and because he doesn't cross his feet, he's able to flip his hips, and still break and drive on the slant.

Really good look at how Buddha creates a fill and fold effect for the backers. Backer to the back is first, and the second backer is an overlap player. The will/money forces the ball to cutback right to the Mac/Mike, and he also creates a hold.

ND running Dime Rabbits Atlanta Twister 0. Atlanta = Bigs to the Field (Load) Twister = 3 man game between the N/T/J. Nose blitzes A. Tackle blitzes B, Jack wraps around to the opposite A. Looks like a miscommunication because the Nose crosses face into the opposite A.

ND running Mercury/Flush 0 against Boise State. Looks like Lock N' Level or Traffic against the Bunch with a glue/travel call against across motion. Really like this rep of Hard Press/Catch from the SS. Stays square and kick steps, doesn't give any ground.

ND running Dime Even Mac 0 Spy. Mac tag tells the DBs that it is Mac Coverage (Safety has the back). Dime plays catch/hard press, while the STAR and boundary corner play inch. MOF safety angle pedals off the QBs shoulders and then melts/breaks once the hands separate.

Another Lou / Away Backer 1 call from ND, playing Man Free with no rat. STAR is playing catch, crossing over once the H declares inside. Boundary corner is playing inch, would like to see a kick before crossing, but good hand shock and is able to really widen the route.

Really cool FZ design by ND behind a Belly/Chicago Path. Shows two high (looks like MOD Quarters), but ends up being Invert 3, with the STAR becoming the MOF player, the SS becoming the mid hook player, and the FS becoming a Wall flat player.

ND running Odd Buddha 0 Change. Change = buck/END has the blitzers man, everyone else plays out the integrity of the call. In this case, it plays out like money coverage for the DBs (Safety has the 4th most dangerous WR).

@1_JRT_1 !!! Feet are so good here. Inches back, 45° kick, then crosses over. His eyes get a bit high for my liking but since he’s squeezing the route and he’s cleared the comeback, he knows it’s a 9, so I can live with it. Great rep

@CoachRC23 !!!! Having elite eyes solves so many problems for you. Your eyes lead your feet and your hands as a DB. Training your eyes to see the right thing is the single best thing you can do to help yourself.
