Getting stuck into my research proposal and focussing on Occupational Therapy Interventions with men who have eating disorders. I would love to speak to any OTs who have experience in this area 💚 #researchproposal #dissertation #eatingdisorders #occupatonaltherapy

The OT research proposal has officially been set to prepare for the dissertation in 3rd year!
If anyone has any good tips, I would appreciate it 💚. It is definitely the toughest one to date. How did you all prepare? #occupationaltherapy #researchproposal #dissertation

I am looking to chat to OTs who work or have previously worked with people who have dementia. I’ll be running a group at Uni and would love to discuss group therapy for those who have experience! #occupationaltherapy #otstudent #dementia #grouoptherapy

@Becoming_an_OT There is a whole therapeutic knitting community, a book and an article in BJOT! Check out @Stitchlinks lead by @betsanwellbeing PT and her book. Article: journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.427…

Are there any OTs that have used knitting or arm knitting as a therapeutic intervention? If you are open to a quick chat, I’d be keen to speak to you🧶. Also any research articles relating to this would also be a great help! Thank you #ot #otstudent #knitting #otinterventions
English

@Becoming_an_OT I have used knitting as part of upper limb rehab, but only with people who had knitting goals, rather than introducing it as a therapeutic activity. But having done some for myself can actually see it’s benefit. Let us know how you go!

@TempleRehab_HP @mlanelson Thanks so much for this! It’s really helpful 😊

@Becoming_an_OT Knitting was used as an intervention for a lady who was recovering from a stroke and had MS. It was used to help her rehabilitate fine motor skills. Historically she had enjoyed knitting and was looking forward to doing it again.

@caralawrence @AmandaAllenPT Thank you for letting me know 😊

@AmandaAllenPT @Becoming_an_OT @Becoming_an_OT I definitely have used knitting for patients who like knitting. Could hand therapy, attention training but also a leisure activity.

@Rebecca_OT__ @IsabellaMay_OT I am a planner too 😂. I will most definitely apply early. I wasn’t sure employers would wait that long, but reassuring to know that they will. Thanks so much for letting me know 😊

@Becoming_an_OT @IsabellaMay_OT Thank you! I started looking in October after we had an employment week at Uni. There was a job I just loved and I like to have things planned way in advance but everyone is different! I know some people who haven't started looking yet and some planning to look after graduating

@IsabellaMay_OT @Rebecca_OT__ That’s amazing! Congratulations 🎉. Can I ask when you started to apply for jobs? I’ll be in this position next year and have mixed reviews on when to apply for band 5 vacancies

@Rebecca_OT__ Congratulations Rebecca, super exciting!!! 🎉

@TheOTShow I registered for a student ticket a few weeks ago and I’ve still not heard if I can attend. I’m currently on placement and my team are attending. Can you advise when students will be told if they have tickets are not so we can arrange travel arrangements etc. Thanks 😊
