TBH, us millennials witnessed unemployment in Kenya at its prime. Things were bad. We watched people finishing uni to stay home for years. Our parents would look at us with disappointment and one day they would stop supporting us financially, just like just, and you had to figure things out. It was us millennials who started online hustling in Kenya. It was us millennials who started influencer work in Kenya. Because we had to get creative. Millennials started flying out to UAE countries to figure things out. The sad reality is that even when you stop working because of maandamano, some people are still making money online, some people have their money working for them, some people are even making money off the maandamanos. You will not sit calmly at home when your default is anxiety because of unemployment. So when you see a millennial aggressively pursuing their work it's because we see it as a gift from God and we don't take it for granted.
