Papa Woof und Krampus und Bleaken
At 40, Franz Kafka (1883-1924), who never married and had no children, walked through the park in Berlin when he met a girl who was crying because she had lost her favourite doll. She and Kafka searched for the doll unsuccessfully. Kafka told her to meet him there the next day and they would come back to look for her. The next day, when they had not yet found the doll, Kafka gave the girl a letter “written” by the doll saying “please don’t cry. I took a trip to see the world. I will write to you about my adventures.” Thus began a story which continued until the end of Kafka’s life. During their meetings, Kafka read the letters of the doll carefully written with adventures and conversations that the girl found adorable. Finally, Kafka brought back the doll (he bought one) that had returned. “It doesn’t look like my doll at all,“ said the girl. Kafka handed her another letter in which the doll wrote: "my travels have changed me.” the little girl hugged the new doll and brought her happy home. A year later Kafka died. Many years later, the now-adult girl found a letter inside the doll. In the tiny letter signed by Kafka it was written: “Everything you love will probably be lost, but in the end, love will return in another way.”

The Guardian has become a rag! If every woman has to do a sex screening test no one is singled out. Let alone women of colour. What a disgusting racist comment. Sex screening has zero to do with ethnicity, & everything to do with biological sex. Nothing more.

@theresaverity @NadiaWhittomeMP Crikey. As a person directly descended from Jewish victims of the Holocaust on one side and colonised Africans on the other, I'd find this this insulting if it wasn't (1) so patently deranged and (2) such an apt illustration of my point

The @CPSUK cannot tell the difference between a man and a woman. Either that or they are deliberately lying to the public. I wouldn’t trust these morons as far as I could throw them.

Kudos to Kirsty Coventry and Dr. Jane Thornton who have followed the science (and clear ethical arguments about fairness) in the face of some fairly outrageous haranguing and attempts at emotional manipulation from NGOs, and much of sports academia. This is legacy-defining.

As I said yesterday, slavery is still a reality in this world and women are at the coalface of it. There is no other word for this inhumanity than slavery. Yet the UN remains silent and continues to give Afghanistan seats on its committees.
Brian Allen@allenanalysis

An Afghan woman was raped. Because her attacker was married, she was jailed for “adultery.” She gave birth in prison. Then agreed to marry him— for her daughter’s survival. I can't even begin to make sense of this. 🤦🏽‍♂️

So here at St Pancras the new European Entry System kiosks are in, but not yet in use. Signed ‘Pre-registration’, zone A is opposite the national rail ticket office, zone B opposite the Eurostar check-in gates, zone C upper level inside a retail unit.

@CPSUK Do you seriously think "other people are lying" makes it OK for you to lie? How do you square this with the core Civil Service value of "honesty"? Aurin Makepeace was not just born male. He is still male and he will die male. Stop gaslighting women.
