@dilanesper I think you need to check whether there's other stuff teenage girls should hand over to teenage boys to make them feel better. Now you've decided girls' feelings aren't "super-important" you don't want to miss anything.

Regarding Tom Steyer's position on trans athletes:
I think he's right on the merits. ELITE sports need to be sex segregated. But people make up reasons to claim that competitive fairness of youth sports is super-important and it isn't. Plus, there's enforcement problems.

When I agreed to do 'Anatomy of a Cancellation' I wrote a memo to myself: 'The very most you can expect is a half-hearted acknowledgement from a woke person that they might have gone too far. Be happy that day'.

Kind of amazed Kate Clanchy is still going but think in this case two things are true: 1) she was targeted during the worst era of OTT granular language policing, 2) the book was often in very poor taste, showcasing reprehensible attitudes towards vulnerable children

@suffolkvicar What would make women safer, Andrew? Sadly, it's not "letting male people go wherever they want all the time". I was going to go for changing cultural expectations, but maybe you'd prefer the nuclear option with a curfew on all males?

@PunishedAG @MaybeProbs So when you say murder is 'policed' you mean it's illegal but it doesn't stop it happening entirely because it would take impossible measures to do that, but that doesn't mean it should be legalised. Could you maybe extend that thought a little?

If this is how young people who identify as trans are now reacting, it is wholly the fault of the parents and adults who ever pandered to their demands and delusions instead of getting them appropriate help and support. They should've been caring and decent enough to be truthful.

It still matters to have a standard that men are expected to adhere to. It's remarkable how many men want us to think *they* wouldn't transgress but are passionate in their desire for it not to be illegal to do so.

The heart of this argument is "it's just easier to ask women not to have boundaries than to ask men to behave decently". That should never be the standard by which laws are made.

The ruling on the interpretation of biological sex in the Equality Act by the Supreme Court is 'bad law' ie. it will fail to achieve its 'intended purpose' and cause 'unintentional harm' both to trans people and to cis men and women if/when it is enforced. Chaos will ensue. #EHRC
