@SexIndustryResA "We recategorised a number acts that would be considered violence if done by men against men into 'sexual activity' provided they were (a) done against women and (b) the man had an erection at the time, and now there's less violence. Thanks, porn."

How did the self-appointed tormenter of Bad Men ™ end up writing propaganda for the surrendered life? And why did she stop being funny? They're not unrelated questions. Me for @unherd unherd.com/2026/03/how-li…

It is very strange to publish an article on the gender dynamics of mass shooters and not mention that the two "female" shooters used as flagship examples here were biologically male. Males commit more than 90% of violent crimes.

Unkind is essential reading 🔥 @glosswitch’s coruscating critique of ‘kindness culture’ is sparking urgent conversation, and the paperback is out now. Have you read it yet?

10yo came from the football insisting I'm not "real mummy" but a fake replacement. Was worried about him until he started trying to set me tasks (mainly bringing him stuff) to "prove" I'm not an impostor

Ruth Maguire (SNP), who is stepping down as an MSP due to a cancer diagnosis: “I find it really hard to put into words the impact that the language of dignity and compassion being used to talk about ending life has had on me—as if somehow wishing to carry on but with help is undignified and burdensome, unfair to people who love me… “My blood runs cold thinking about sitting in a room in a hospital and having a doctor raise that with me as we weigh up treatment options… “If it weighs so heavily on me, someone in a position of financial privilege, with a large loving family who are able to care for each other—indeed, someone whose job it’s been for 10 years to have difficult conversations… I want colleagues to see how this all plays out for people who don’t have the privilege that we have. “And in doing so, let’s have our eyes open to the strain our health and social care systems are under.”

Had to write a thing for work today mentioning "proposed changes in 2032" and something about that date felt - to me at least - ridiculously space age. Like I've managed thinking the 2020s are just a bit beyond the 1990s but now it's just got silly

@Aksinia00447 @MsKarenMason I wrote a book with a chapter on why Karen is misogynistic (and ageist). I don't think me mocking Planned Parenthood for using it when they exemplify the values they see in "Karens" means I suddenly approve of it.

@MsKarenMason @glosswitch I guess we took it differently but I totally agree with you that the ‘Karen’ insult is misogynistic. There’s a problem on the left with sneaking their woman-hatred in by specifying that it is white women they are critiquing, thinking that creates a pass

I wrote about Planned Parenthood offering Botox and how an organisation that feared becoming "a Karen" ended up prioritising choice feminism over reproductive justice thecritic.co.uk/botox-bodies-a…

I think having an "old style"woman talking about misogyny - implying that misogynists target female people because they're female - now has the status of "dogwhistle terfy". At some point you have to admit that a movement that problematises feminism so much is just anti-feminist
Jane Waring@CreeAnt

Hi @BBCWomensHour Today’s piece on misogyny was a classic example of misogyny. You interviewed a cross dressing man on a topic about which he is not qualified to speak. Why didn’t any woman involved with WH call it out for what it really was? You’re cowardice shames you all

I mean it's also because they believe simultaneously that women are hysterical and stupid but also that they run the world. They resolve the tension by becoming convinced that women are doing someone else's bidding. Their far-right allies tell them it's the Jews.
David Baddiel@Baddiel

Some may be surprised by how all the men in @louistheroux 's Manosphere doc turn out to be antisemites, but it follows from their logic. First, obviously, Jew hatred is clickbait, but more importantly, these men promote versions of themselves as brave mavericks unafraid to stick it to the feminised liberal Establishment - and as such, they need an embodiment of power to kick against - one that they, in their I-don’t-give-a-fuck performance, are smashing through. They need the myth of the Matrix. They begin with women as the control but soon they move on to Jews, who provide a darker mythology of control for them to perform being not-controlled by.

@DreyfusJames Clearing out my dad's house I've found a vhs tape which I think is me & a friend, age 14, miming to Buffalo Stance (plus, if I remember right, a weird bit at the end where one of us does a fake celebrity interview wearing a pig mask). Must find a way to proudly show it to my kids

@JoelSnape My 10yo loved Titus (but also loved him getting eaten by the frog). Felt a bit taken aback at how hilarious my son found mother insect's death on our mother's day cinema trip

@glosswitch Oh the bit with the airborne shark (and to a lesser extent the people with snakes on their backs). I squeaked at the tunnel shark but I thought it was great!

There's a bit in Hoppers (2026) that, if it happened in real life, would be the most existentially horrifying event that had ever occurred to a human being, like something out of a Junji Ito comic. Maybe TWO bits!

I’m going to try this myself. My hypothesis is that most men will expect me to be the one who moves aside. It’s an interesting way to try to track male entitlement.

My heart goes out to anyone affected by meningitis outbreak in Kent. It's a horrible disease but can be treated if recognised early enough. Hours and minutes matter here. Get vaxxed. Be vigilant. My youngest survived it and was part of the research that produced the vax.
