Steve Hilton says Xavier Becerra should be indicted on money launder charges
Here’s a step by step timeline of how Xavier Becerra laundered $10,000 per month of campaign funds through a consulting firm
- When Xavier Becerra was California’s Attorney General, he was then hired by Biden. Biden picked him to be health secretary
- For a long time, Becerra had a chief of staff called Sean McCluskie. He wanted to take him with him to DC. The salary paid by the federal government was quite a bit lower than what Sean McCluskie was making in in California
- To make it possible for him to go with him to DC, they topped up his salary from the feds and gave him extra. They took $10,000 a month as a payment from Xavier Becerra’s California campaign account
- That $10,000 was paid it to a consulting firm
- That Sacramento consulting firm happened to be run by Gavin Newsom’s former chief of staff called Dana Williamson.
So in simple terms:
- $10,000 from Xavier Becerra’s campaign account goes to this consulting firm
- $10,000 goes from the consulting firm without being touched to Sean McCluskie’s wife
“That’s illegal. It’s laundering, and it’s illegal on 2 grounds
- It’s a violation of California campaign finance law because money in a campaign finance account can only be used for that purpose, to campaign for Xavier Becerra in California
- It’s also against federal law for a federal employee to be paid any extra than their salary.
It’s illegal. So there’s 2 laws being broken here. And so the question is, why hasn’t Becerra been indicted?”
I looked up what the punishments for these crimes are and it’s insane
The actual scheme that occurred is officially classified as conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud
The punishment is
- Up to 30 years in prison for bank fraud when a financial institution is involved and up to 20 years for wire fraud
- Fines of up to $1 million or more under general fine provisions
- Mandatory restitution of the full amount diverted
And it doesn’t stop there because they tried to conceal where the money was coming from
If prosecutors show the transfers as concealment of the true source or ownership of the funds, money-laundering charges under 18 U.S.C. § 1956 could also apply up to 20 years
Xavier Becerra should be serving the rest of his life in prison not running for Governor of California
But what do you expect from the guy who treated migrant children like an “assembly line” handing them out to traffickers
