Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 addressed as keynote speaker today at the launch of IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters.
He highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s @CMShehbaz vision of making Pakistan a regional digital and innovation hub.
He underscored Pakistan’s immense IT potential, youthful talent, and rapidly growing digital economy, along with the opportunities emerging under CPEC 2.0 — transitioning from physical infrastructure to intelligent infrastructure, digital connectivity, AI, ICT, and innovation ecosystems.
He reaffirmed the strength of Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership, describing it as an enduring and trusted relationship entering a new phase of digital and economic cooperation.
The launch of IBI’s Digital Economy Headquarters, he noted, marks another milestone in Pak–China friendship and reflects growing confidence in Pakistan’s future as a platform for technology, investment, and digital transformation.

Foreign Minister Anand appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue.
Underscoring the importance of all parties adhering to a ceasefire, DPM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its support for dialogue and diplomacy.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact.

Islamabad: 13 April 2026.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney this evening.
During their warm and cordial conversation, the Canadian Prime Minister congratulated Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Pakistan’s peace efforts that culminated in the temporary ceasefire and led to the recently held talks between the United States and Iran, hosted by Pakistan.
While appreciating Canada’s endorsement and support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, the Prime Minister highlighted that the US-Iran negotiations were an important step towards peace and assured that Pakistan would continue with its efforts to urge both parties to maintain the ceasefire and make meaningful progress towards de-escalation and regional peace and stability.
The two leaders also exchanged views on Pakistan-Canada bilateral relations and expressed their desire to work together to enhance cooperation in agriculture, clean energy, mines and minerals as well as enhancing Canadian investments in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister reiterated his invitation to the Canadian Prime Minister to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his kind convenience.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination.
