Palestine Mission to the 🇪🇺, 🇧🇪 and 🇱🇺
@PalMissionEU
The official account for the State of Palestine's Mission to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg

King Philippe of Belgium said it best: "I fully join those who denounce the grave humanitarian abuses in Gaza... It is a disgrace for all of humanity." Thank you, Your Majesty. We urge the world to follow your lead and help lift Gaza from this man-made hell.

Today we gather in the European Parliament for a photo action in solidarity with the people of Gaza. The weaponization of humanitarian aid by Israel must stop. The suffering and violence inflicted on Gazans is unbearable. We call for an immediate ceasefire, a two-state solution, and a future built on peace, justice, and shared humanity for all.

If EU diplomats can be the target of the IDF in the West Bank, imagine how the Palestinians are treated. Netanyahu says he is engaged in a war of civilisation over barbarism, but the civilised world has concluded that it is the IDF that is engaged in a campaign of barbarism. The time has long come for the EU to suspend its association agreement with Israel.

Thsnks Slovenian President @nmusar for your courage callling the situation in Gaza by his name, Genocide. Sorry for the attacks of the spanish extreme right Vox, they attack also us, the democrats. #StopGazaGenocide

To the people of Palestine, Im sorry you have been utterly failed by the EU. Never Again means Never Again for anyone. #FreePalestine #StopIsraeliGenocide

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine 20 May 2025- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the decision by a clear majority of European Union Member States to support the Dutch initiative calling for a formal review of the EU-Israel Association Agreement under Article 2. This development constitutes a long-overdue and necessary step toward aligning the European Union’s external action with its foundational principles of human rights, respect for international law, and the rule of law. The EU-Israel Association Agreement is not a conventional trade instrument. Article 2 places binding legal obligations on both parties, stipulating that respect for human rights and democratic principles constitutes an essential element of the agreement. There is now extensive and credible documentation by UN bodies, international courts, and civil society organizations pointing to Israel’s systematic and grave violations of international humanitarian and human rights law in the occupied Palestinian territory, including the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, notably East Jerusalem. The Ministry calls upon EU institutions to proceed without delay with the review process and to apply the necessary legal and political consequences should Israel be found in breach of its obligations under Article 2. This includes, as a matter of legal principle and policy coherence, the suspension of preferential treatment and the adoption of targeted restrictive measures. The State of Palestine reiterates that impunity must not be tolerated. Upholding the EU’s own legal commitments and ensuring accountability are essential to safeguarding international law and preserving the credibility of the rules-based international order.

Belgium fully supports this joint statement. Humanitarian aid must reach those in need in Gaza, safely, consistently, and without obstruction. There is no time to lose. @BelgiumMFA

Today, the European Parliament passed another resolution calling for an end to incitement in the Palestinian education system. The Parliament makes it unequivocally clear that EU financial aid should only be provided if Palestinian textbooks will be free of antisemitism, incitement against the State of Israel, and the glorification of terrorism. We welcome this decision and call on the EU to heed the voices of Europe’s elected representatives. Ending incitement that poison the minds of the young generation is a must!

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes the European Parliament’s rejection of politically motivated attempts to undermine UNRWA and the Palestinian Authority in its 2023 discharge report (443–202). In a report of over 250 items, only marginal references concerned Palestine—none endorsed defunding or punitive action. The vote affirms the EU’s refusal to yield to disinformation campaigns and reasserts its commitment to multilateralism, legality, and the indispensable role of Palestinian institutions in upholding rights and stability.

"Today, Palestine has lost a loyal friend to the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, a strong defender of the values of peace, love, and faith in the entire world, and a true friend of peace and justice."
