Credit for the graphic goes to Jonathan Tomes, a translator of Reformed antiquities and a guy a lot smarter than me. You might find you are reading a modern conception of what that means into the words. He is an expert on early modern Reformed political theology which predates you woke collectivism by hundreds of years. Here’s his long form content: postnuance.substack.com

That has nothing to do with "shared consciousness." That is very specifically the language of the woke, which has made its way into the mind of whoever (or more likely whatever) produced the graphic. Anyway, the graphic rejects the individual liberty that our founders guaranteed in the Constitution and favors collectivism. Sorry, but I'm not on that team and have zero desire to waste time arguing with wokesters. Thanks for the graphic though. It will make a fine thread.

Christian nationalism is a communist operation designed to do three things that advance the revolution. First, it gives communists real people to point to and say, "See? We *told* you they're literal Nazis!" This works because Christian nationalist agitators, who are themselves leftist revolutionaries posing as Christians, spout literal neo-Nazi ideology like blood and soil nationalism, the superiority of the white race, and hatred of Jews. Second, those stupid enough to actually buy in to what Christian nationalist agitators like Michael Spangler, Joel Webbon, Andrew Isker, the Ogden impastors, and Dale Partridge are peddling become woke. That is, they develop a critical consciousness and start to view the world through the lens of identity based victim-oppressor narratives. They become every bit as woke as Antifa thugs, BLM arsonists, screeching third-wave feminists, troons, etc. In other words, Christian nationalism is a path to leftist revolutionary brainwashing. Third, those foolish enough to adopt the Christian nationalist label while rejecting neo-Nazi ideology still associate themselves with the neo-Nazis who also use the label. Thus, they add numbers to the group that communists point to and say, "See? MAGA is a bunch of literal Nazis!" They will not draw a distinction between Joel Webbon and Joe Patriot. A Christian patriot who chooses to identify himself as a Christian nationalist while saying he rejects identity politics and leftist revolution is just as convincing as someone who identifies as a communist while saying he's an American patriot who rejects communism and that it's the communists who are doing communism wrong. It doesn't work that way. Not at all.

So if he doesn’t say consciousness, it’s ok, even if it is the same thing? “With equal pleasure I have as often taken notice that Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people--a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs, and who, by their joint counsels, arms, and efforts, fighting side by side throughout a long and bloody war, have nobly established general liberty and independence. This country and this people seem to have been made for each other, and it appears as if it was the design of Providence, that an inheritance so proper and convenient for a band of brethren, united to each other by the strongest ties, should never be split into a number of unsocial, jealous, and alien sovereignties.” John Jay, Federalist #2

John Jay didn't talk about consciousness, shared or otherwise. You did. The very first frame in your graphic talks about, and I quote, "shared consciousness." That is literally the foundation of the occult and communism. That is the road you are on, and that is what Christian nationalists are leading people into.

Here's a fun piece of gaming history I just received; the original oil painting used for the US cover of Lone Wolf Book #9 "The Cauldron of Fear" published in 1988. Author Joe Dever set these adventures in Magnamund, his own personal OD&D campaign setting that he created in 1976.

Is anything beyond propositional / creedal nationhood woke right in your mind? It’s very much sounding like the “timeless politics of Jesus” that happen to line up with liberalism again. Give John Jay’s Federalist #2 a read and let me know if he’s woke right too. What about all the CN’s that talk about the American Ethnos including everyone here in the 19th Century such that Clarence Thomas is a shining example of a heritage American. There is more to this than I think you have read.

Requiring a political philosophy (which pertains to nature) to be “gospel-centered” (which pertains to grace) is a category confusion — the same category confusion as a gospel-centered law firm, a gospel-centered carwash, or a gospel-centered taxidermist.

@__Conall @JoshuaBarzon In fact, the word for the method of pouring or sprinkling while standing maybe waist deep in water is "affusion" and fits every description of baptism in the Bible. Not to mention many 2nd century cave paintings depict this exactly including the baptism of the Lord Himself.

This is the baptistry from the Dura-Europos house church, around AD 240, one of the oldest Christian church sites found. Its size and steps fit immersion or at least full-bodied baptism, which lines up far more naturally with believer’s baptism than sprinkling infants.

@peterrhague Personal firearms are the great equalizer for women who would otherwise be defenseless. What this guy is doing is assault. Aside from that, men in the vicinity need to stop accepting this kind of behavior and step in first. The ladies shouldn't be forced to deal with it.

All those suggesting civilian violence against him - fine, but most of his targets seem to be women who can’t be expected to start a fight with the guy. So are you really arguing the state should hand out the beating systematically? What’s the difference, aside from not requiring victims be physically capable of violence themselves

To my non-Sabbatarian friends: I get it. I was there once. I know the standard arguments: Christ fulfilled the law (Matt. 5:17), we’re not justified by law-keeping (Gal. 2:16), and believers are no longer under the Mosaic covenant (Rom. 6:14). But I don’t think those truths eliminate a Christian Sabbath. Consider the biblical pattern: • God himself rested on the seventh day (Gen. 2:2–3). • The Sabbath was instituted at creation—alongside marriage—before the Fall and long before Sinai (Gen. 2:2–3). • The Sabbath command is included in the Decalogue, with the moral law (Ex. 20:8–11). • Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man,” not merely for Israel (Mark 2:27). • Hebrews says, “There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God” (Heb. 4:9). • John refers to “the Lord’s Day” (Rev. 1:10). • The New Testament consistently shows the church gathering on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2). • Christians are exhorted not to neglect assembling together (Heb. 10:25). Taken together, I cannot escape the conclusion that the moral principle of one day in seven for rest and worship remains, while the day itself has been transferred to the first day of the week in honor of Christ’s resurrection. That’s why I believe the Lord’s Day is the Christian Sabbath—a gift for the people of God, not a burden.

I’ve just performed my first test on a rude person using their phone on speaker at the airport today. I put my phone on max volume with some Swedish metal. It took a solid 2 minutes before the person walked off continuing her conversation. Data is inconclusive. Will attempt again with Hank Williams Jr

It is most certainly frustrating. I feel like our customs that are second nature to us are so ingrained, we don't realize we're doing them (i.e. not punishing people around you with your idiotic tik toks). If you can afford a $500 phone, you can afford $30 headphones. We have to teach them how to be in our society. Their parents clearly did not.

Why Sabbath observance is perpetual: 1. Creation ordinance 2. Part of moral law 3. Day to remember God's deliverance of us from Egypt (typologically) 4. God's own pattern: work 6 days, rest 1 5. Christ says it's for man's benefit 6. NT church: "Lord's Day" clearly set apart
Owen Strachan@ostrachan

The Sabbath is fulfilled in Christ (Matt. 11:28-30). I respect the views of friends who disagree. But we live by the FINISHED work of Christ. We possess rest *at all times.* We need not enforce Sabbath-keeping, whether at home or in society. Jesus the Fulfiller has come!

Plus: observed before the giving of the law in Ex 16:25. Hebrews 4:9 translated literally says, "There remains a Sabbath-keeping for the people of God." Its not the same word as used in other places. Plus Christ has fully entered into that rest, we began to at conversion, but we still sin and have not fully entered it until glory.

This is like saying you can’t make laws against adultery. Stop trusting in your chastity and trust in Christ. No, brother. Because He is the King of Kings and worthy of all worship, the earthly magistrate has a duty to promote the piety of his people and give them the best possible opportunity to set aside the day as God demonstrated at creation as an ordinance and moved to the First day Sabbbath by the authority of God the son.

You don't need to spend a second trying to enforce Sabbath-keeping in America. No such mandate is found in the New Testament. Nor did the apostles try to impose OT law on the state. They preached the gospel and built churches. Put not your hope in law. Put it ALL in Christ!
