I'm not an ESV user but the hate train on the ESV in reformed circles is weird to me.

Whatโ€™s interesting about Stonewall Jackson isโ€”while he was a certainly a dutiful churchmanโ€”he didnโ€™t have โ€œthickโ€ **theological** commitments. He was sympathetic to Rome and a baptized Episcopalian who only spent the last few years of his life in his wifeโ€™s Presbyterian faith.
Bushwhacker@anglotradboy

How many times do I have to tell you people. Stonewall Jackson wasnโ€™t a puritan. He was a Covenanter

@IVMiles He looked into Catholicism during Mexican war, but became pretty devout Presbyterian in 1851 (Age 27), so a majority of his adult life. Both wives were daughters of Presbyterian ministers, and he had already joined the church before meeting and marrying his first wife in 1853

Every Reformed Protestant affirmed natural law until recently. @michaeljknowles This is just a really bad talking point that Roman Catholics have repeated over and over.

Michael Knowles: some on the right claim the American founding was โ€œirredeemably liberal and Protestant.โ€ โ€œI am not persuaded by that.โ€ Points to natural law influence, etc.

Miles wants you to know that his upcoming book on Southern Presbyterians(which of course is just a coincidence that it is coming out around the same time as @ZacharyGarris and @irishpresby book) will clear this up.
Miles Smith IV@IVMiles

The Witherspoonian proposition. Glad @RevKevDeYoung lays it out in laymanโ€™s terms. Have Presbyterians believed their religion is political? Yes, because the church is the chief moral catechizer of the American people. More of this in my upcoming book with @WestminsterTS Press.

You will never guess what this is in response to.
Joseph D. McBride, Esq.@McBrideLawNYC

@Joseph_Spurgeon St. Patrick was a 5th century Catholic bishop. In his Letter to the Soldiers of Coroticus, he describes administering the sacraments to those who were later martyred: โ€œThe baptized and confirmed are murderedโ€ฆ newly baptized, anointed with chrism, still in white garmentsโ€ฆโ€
