Many see it as performative politics over art. Classics with non-diverse casts would be disqualified. This account has many bangers, but we have to be honest where the true modernism is. First off, I support Pope Leo, and I believe he has taken some great decisions, and has done much to bring tradition back to the Church. His stance against the Iran war, his stance on Latin Mass, and continuity is refreshing. Our last Pope did much to hurt the Church. And Vatican II did much to harm the Church . Its ambiguous language, its stance on other heretical religions, its attempt to bring the Church into the “modern world”, tha language itself is the problem. We don’t need to be worried about earthly things such as “modernism.” As far as I see it, SSPX are aiming to preserve the tradition of the Church before 1962-1965. The pope is valid of course- but I would be joyous to see him reinstate the Church as it was..
