Now how do we know that "Bunker" is TEX? Well amazingly, "Bunker" has TEX apomorphies, or derived traits that are unique to a particular taxonomic group / species. In fact, alongside "Bunker", over a dozen other specimens share similar apomorphic traits with the holotype! 🔬

BUNKER IS TEX! "Bunker" or KUVP 5033 is a remarkable specimen, being THE largest and one of the most complete Tylosaurus fossils ever discovered! The entire skeleton measures at about 14 meters long (~46 ft) with the skull itself measuring at nearly 2 meters long (6 ft)!

🚨NEW STUDY DROP🚨 New specimen of Hypacrosaurus altispinus is described. It's so well preserved, that it helps to re-write what defines the genus/species. It implies the second species H. stebingeri, may belong to the genus Corythosaurus. 🎨: Lucas Attwell

Dark wing feathers in birds likely provide structural support via melanosomes and improve flight efficiency through radiative heat, particularly in long-distance fliers. I've seen this concept applied to pterosaurs, but it's interesting to know the science behind it.

Specimen BMRP 2002.4.1, nicknamed "Jane" represents the second Nanotyrannus species, N. lethaeus, being described in October 2025 by Dr. James Napoli @JGN_Paleo & Dr. Lindsay Zanno @ExpeditionLive with the species name being a reference to River Lethe of Greek Mythology.

Happy #PterosaurPtuesday! 🔥🐉🔥 This is the holotype specimen of Infernodrakon hastacollis, which consists of a single elongated neck vertebra [BMR P2002.2] which measures at around 35 centimeters long, or 14 inches. It likely had an estimated wingspan of ~4.15 meters (13.6 ft).
