Funny thing, I hear this a lot but people usually say this AFTER they made it. But lets be real, the “burned-out version” of you was also the one adding +20K MRR a week. Sometimes you HAVE to sprint in the early days just for the momentum. I think the key is just knowing when to switch from sprint to marathon. Both have their place

I got burnt out trying to be the perfect CEO that I almost killed Minea. This was back in October 2023. Minea was EXPLODING (adding $20K MRR per WEEK) and I felt like everything I touched turned to gold. Coding 12 hours a day. Running marketing campaigns. Personally onboarding new hires to “set the rhythm” It was a super toxic philosophy… And one day I just couldn’t focus or think anymore. My brain was FRIED. So I took a week off to go the countryside… First few days I was depressed and literally going through withdrawals. The feeling of success is addictive asf. Wins and growth milestones have to be on the same level as crack haha So back in the countryside, I was CRAVING the chaos. I missed the slack notifications, small fires, and the feeling of being needed. But then everything clicked on like day 5… I realized I hadn’t been a good CEO, I was just being a workaholic. AKA - the bottleneck of Minea. Once I got back I immediately started delegating to my C-levels. And shortly after Minea hit it’s all time high of $750K MRR. It’s a marathon. Not a sprint.

Shippers are too quick to copy the wrong shit in SaaS. They see someone hit $100K MRR then copy-paste. Same tech. Same pricing. Same marketing. Then act flabbergasted when it doesn’t work lol. It didn’t work because you’re trying to copy an already perfect product. Successful projects always start fast and ugly. We scaled Minea to $3K MRR with a newsletter. DIDN’T EVEN HAVE A PRODUCT YET. Then we built the ugly ass MVP and got it to $10K MRR. Only then did we hire a real dev. Sure it’s easier to copy a landing page design than it is to find a creator and give him half the equity. It’s also easier to spend 6 months building in the dark than it is to launch and validate an MVP in 2 weeks. But this is the reason some of us win. And some of you lose.
