@railnigel On my rare visits to KX (I lived in Wolverhampton), I'd ascend into the station from the underground and INSTANTLY know from the unmistakable thrumming that somewhere there was a Deltic! [Latterly, I would enjoy a similar, reminiscent tingle with the Class 68s at Man Pic.] 🙂

@RHummBooks @GlenBatten1 Poss try Google PhotoScan? Often works well capturing a painting behind glass on the wall of a gallery where reflections can be a nightmare. It guides you to take five pictures from different positions and combines them hence could - no guarantees - eliminate some of the texture.

@GlenBatten1 Thank you, they are just too far away, except for the one hidden by the signal, I cannot make out what they are. It's not such a bad photo as it seems, but it's printed on textured paper which catches the light and sparkles under zoom. Frustrating! #whatstation 808

No station in #whatstation 808? There's a big yard, an elevated line, probably heading to join the main line which runs obliquely across the lower edge of the photo. And, at a higher level, a dock, possibly still under construction. Can anyone identify this busy place, please?

@simon_68025 @Captain_Deltic They seem competent locos and will be missed at Manchester Piccadilly where they bring a bit of character. This is 68025 Superb departing with the 1135 to Scarborough on Wednesday 9th August. The sun is bright and the driver has donned her shades.

Robin Gisby (CEO of DOHL: TPE) on the Class 68: “An appalling train that shouldn’t be running on our network”…, neatly sidestepping the fact the locos are Euro 3a emissions compliant. Some of the claims in the video linked below might catch the eye of @Captain_Deltic !
