It's mysogony. Girl/womanhood is seen as degrading and manhood as empowering, so women chasing what is seen as masculinity are understood (though often forbidden) but boys (or trans women) seeking femininity are seen as illogical, degenerate, and worthy of scorn.

Today in things that make me proud to be Mayor: PS 889's ‘Hyper Pigmentation’ are officially two-time Minecraft champions at the City's Annual Video Game Festival.
Gaming is a largely male-dominated industry, but teams like Hyper Pigmentation show us it doesn't have to be.
As New York City remains a top recruiter of gaming jobs, we're also making sure the next-generation of engineers and game designers look more like our city.

I’ve been in 6 major community scenes over the past 22 years…as in, Smash Bros + 5 others.
This happens everywhere, and the reason you see it most in Smash is because the Smash scene is the most proactive in doing ANYTHING about it.
Which gets the scene villified, ironically.

What I really struggle to understand here is how this keeps coming up in the Smash community. Obviously stuff like this happens everywhere but I feel like Smash is the only place where I see it THIS often. What about our scene attracts people like this? Something’s gotta change.
