This is why the “just move on he’s gone” argument doesn’t work. That family is actively working against Iowa men’s bball and trying to convince several former Fran players that they shouldn’t be supporting the program anymore.

Listened to the recent L&L pod with @ChadLeistikow and @ScottDochterman. Scott, @KeithMurphy & @GaryDolphin don't need me to to defend them. But they're all great people I've never heard a negative thing about. McCaffery acted like his resume rivaled Coach K. And it didn't.

Disappointed in how Fran & co. treated longtime Iowa reporters. But equally disappointed in those reporters. If you knew what was happening behind the scenes and sat on it — that’s a disservice to the fans who trusted you and goes against every fiber of journalistic integrity.
Dropping harsh narratives a year after he’s gone is cowardice.
I'm thrilled about the staff we have in place, it's time to move on.

It's such a bad look for Iowa sports media that none of this stuff about Fran & Margaret McCaffery had seen the light of day until a year after the guy was canned.
The media covering up all the bullshit that the McCaffery's pulled behind the scenes is no better than if the media were just out here running PR for the family.
Sports journalism has always been off-putting for me because people in the industry will just blatantly bury information about a program, a coach or a player just because they don't want to "burn any bridges" or "ruin any relationships with sources," and that's ultimately just a cop out for not wanting to do their job and be an actual journalist with integrity.

I’ve met Gary Dolphin a few times and he is a great and respectful man who loves the University of Iowa athletics. What Fran and Margaret McCaffery have done to him and to the beat reporters for Iowa sports is a disgrace. They were never out to get Fran but rather get answers for us fans. Shameful.

Comments about my pictures don’t bother me, people can say or think what they want, but I don’t want people to think the guy is a model Christian because he’s not, he hurts Christendom by his comments, almost on a daily basis, they see a hypocrite just like I do… sometimes you call someone out.
