Defra cover up. Last night @DanielZeichner spoke at a Vegetarian Society event. I was told by those there he spoke about getting the British public to make "diet changes". I asked VegSoc for a recording, they said they made one & sent to Defra. Defra say no recording exists...!

Considering how well the Governor has done his actual job - controlling inflation - in recent years, I would certainly take any advice on economics from him with a pinch of salt. But if he is going to blunder into controversy and expose his lack of judgment in doing so, perhaps he could tell us where the hit from Brexit is actually visible in the economic growth figures? These show we have been growing at the same speed as France and faster than Germany, two countries which, last time I looked, were still in the European Union. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@terrychristian Sorry but you need to engage your brain before putting your pen in gear. Return on capital less than 2%. Farmers work for a lot less than minimum wage. You would be screaming if this were teachers or nurses.

Oh dear. Land value is taxed annually in every other free market economy . Why is the UK so feudal. Council tax annually on a one bed flat - but own a million acres ...nothing 🤣 and it goes up in value every year

@terrychristian A farmers land doesn't make him rich it is the tool he uses to make a living! Taxing it is like taxing a carpenters saw, a mechanics tools, your verbal skills or even a fork lift drivers truck. He can't spend land, the paper increase in value is only caused by political failure.
