Sola Scriptura is functionally "Scripture according to my interpretation," backed by whatever men agree with me.
It is the exaltation of private judgment over the Bible, reinforced by other men who share that same judgment.
Every time a Protestant declares something to be "biblical," he is either appealing to his own interpretation of the text or to heretics like John MacArthur to validate that interpretation.

Staggering. He becomes more gross by the day.

Q: "Why didn't you tell U.S. allies…about the war before attacking Iran?" President Trump: "We wanted surprise. Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor?"

@FreoPope @Peter_Fitz Aren’t the ALP socialists interested in the welfare of the working class and the poor? So much for that unjustified belief, they display no concern for their most basic need for energy security. Just ideology in place of physics and economics
English

@ParapetSee @Peter_Fitz Politicians allowed it but companies did it.
The companies shut their refineries, not the politicians. The companies worked out they make more money for their shareholders importing & distributing than refining.
Pauline & all the right are free market fans, low govt intervention
English

Precisely. These are not serious people. Bumper-sticker policies, and that's it.
Aaron Smith@aaronsmith
According to Pauline Hanson, asking for policy costings is a “stupid question” - because One Nation has never been serious enough about policy to survive real scrutiny. One Nation doesn’t build policy - it sells slogans.
English

@Peter_Fitz You want to defend the current situation Peter? Go right ahead. Defend away
English

And you think if Pauline had been in power, a part of her comprehensive, detailed and costed energy policy - put together by Malcolm Roberts, and approved by her Shadow Cabinet - would have that sorted, yes?

@Peter_Fitz Serious people? The ones who engineered an Australian oil shortage despite years of warnings? Those serious people?
English

@ChloeCharlie180 @AshPolitik Neglect on a major scale, 4 years to fix and nothing done. Yet you want to defend these simps intent on reelection above all else
English

He shut them’ — no, he didn’t.
Refineries aren’t a switch a politician flicks.
They closed because of global market pressures, margins, and private operators making commercial decisions — not one person in Canberra.
Reducing it to ‘he shut them’ just shows you don’t understand the issue you’re trying to blame him for
English

@AshPolitik Mate, you’re a simp for the current neglectful regime. 4 years to fix but nothing done despite warnings from all and sundry.. We have an entire continent to manage, not a remote outpost

@Girardism Rene puts himself above Aquinas. I don’t think he is right or justified in that bold projection of his own ego
English

“... I base my arguments on the Gospels, rather than on Saint Thomas Aquinas or on Aristotle. That's why I have the fideists, the ones who say, ‘I believe because it's absurd,’ against me, as well as the old Catholics who cite Aristotle at the drop of the hat but never the Gospels.”

@Truth_matters20 Personallly, I would think your views is of little concern or interest.

@hughriminton @nytimes Not where I am Hugh. Every thing ok here including the sea levels

Meanwhile the climate seems to be warming faster than expected. Sorry.

@Joseph_Spurgeon Sure Joe, you think your personal interpretation is it. Why would anyone accept that? You are not an authority to anyone except yourself and those confused enough to listen to your personal opinion
English

Roman Catholics often quote scriptures in the same way cults do. They have a position that they try to read back into scripture rather than drawing their position from scripture. For example they try to read the Pope into scripture. It’s similar to how Muslims try to read Mohammed into scripture.

@bradpsychology What transition to renewables? Currently 12% EV new car sales in Australia means 88% non-EV sales
English

Your reminder: The Coalition spent a decade delaying the transition to EVs. smh.com.au/politics/feder…

@Truth_matters20 Whose version Danny? Yours? The other thousands of self appointed pastors?

We can’t call ourselves a “clever country” if we refuse to properly fund science. Many Australian researchers spend more than 30% of their working year writing grant applications with a less than 10% chance of success. That's a major drag on a sector which the government says is key to productivity gains.

@PeterCronau Doug would unilaterally disarm and encourage our strategic rivals to monster us. Luckily Doug is as irrelevant as you and me in this debate
English

Doug Cameron nails it!
“There is still time to reject AUKUS & focus on peace & diplomacy
“This can only happen if the nation is aware & we stop being led into a war to confront China.

@AlboMP That sounds like a disaster in the making- let’s see if any of these vessels actually perform in day to day operations
English

Made in Australia means top quality.
And that's what you're getting with INCAT in Tasmania. They build electric ferries right here in Hobart and ship them all over the world.
We met some of the shipbuilders this morning busy getting them ready to sail.
Wonderful to tour the shipyard with Their Majesties, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark.

@AshPolitik The ALP will get a sizeable majority. Unfortunately the Premier cannot be trusted about his pro abortion stance. Permitting late term abortions for perceived political advantage is reprehensible
