@pistnyc We know many new AI products have been pressed on @NYCschools in the last few weeks & installed on student Chromebooks including Google Gemini- without DoE asking PEP to approve their contracts. This is being done quietly- probably to avoid resistance or outcry,

You’ve got to wonder who is paying for the pizza and tee- shirts, Google? Their AI Skills platform will be used in the school according to the principal, though that program’s privacy policy says it shouldn’t be used by anyone under 18.

There’s something worth paying attention to in Los Angeles. 📵 LAUSD is beginning to limit classroom screen time, especially for younger learners. It reflects a growing awareness—from parents, educators, and communities—about what kids really need. Because learning is built on relationships, not screens… and definitely not robots.
