This was sent to me by one of the Manorfield protesting parents. It pretty much reflects the back to front approach the school took to its RSE consultation process. I'd put my neck on the chopping block and say thousands of parents have had a similar type of experience.

The controversy surrounding RSE did not go away. It's been placed on the back burner with the 'pandemic' - My hunch is we're about to see it come to a boil again very shortly. Arrowhead at 'age-appropriate content + inadequate 'parent consultations' in specific.

@ace_kids10 Could not agree with you more. If this pandemic wasn't going on far more parents would be up in arms over this. As the media has only had one narrative, RSE remains hidden.

A pyramid policy of consultation with parents on the bottom rung of the ladder. The grand finale of which appears to involve parents being ridden over slipshod in a slapdash attempt by the school to push itself over the finishing line.

Parents have been urging Council leaders to ensure the #StatutoryDuty to #consult w parents is met by the schools, yet we're facing a wall of silence #ParentsUnited only seeks a meaningful consultation & that age and faith of children are taken into account as required by #law

This is another RSE consultation failure. This time not just one school but a whole London Borough. With the likelihood of Tower Hamlets and Birmingham parent protests on the horizon. RSE could well be set to break into the mainstream yet again. Don't be surprised if it does.

Manorfield primary schools RSE policy, on the face of it, seems to want to have v little to do with Jigsaws LGBTQ curriculum. Maybe these 'other bespoke' resources the policy refers to cover this. A lot of grey areas in the policy. It begs more questions than it affords answers

@ace_kids10 The school is not used to be questioned .This is probably the 1st time since Paul Jackson started that we’ve made any noise publicly about what’s going on.He’s winning awards all over the place including @TfL naming a DLR train after him but no one hears from the parents.

Manorfields RSE policy says a lot whilst simultaneously saying v little at all. It does pay lip service to parents. However, I'm struck, above all else, by how the whole botched consultation process has been carried out back to front. I can't help wonder if that was strategic

BREAKING: Second Muslim parent protest this week outside Manorfield Primary School in Tower Hamlets against the teaching of RSE.

@LondonRash @ace_kids10 @ParentsMPS Even before the RSE topic came up we didn’t have the engagement that most successful schools encourage. A lot of parents believe that our headteacher has broken down the community culture when he started, 1st thing he did was get rid of the PTA.

@RmSalih A common story. This needs to change and Muslim parents need to get them selves on these boards it wouldn't be hard they hold votes.

Eight out of the nine governors at Manorfield Primary School are non Muslims, while the school's intake is majority Muslim.
