@kwekubaako956 @euphemey It's not only about criminals. Sometimes it's just fear, because the guy is acting super strange and seems to have a psych illness, or he's driving his car while I'm just walking, so I know things can go bad easily if he freaks out.

A woman I know was followed home at night. She didn’t run. She didn’t yell. She laughed at his jokes. Complimented his shoes. Pretended she was flattered by the attention. She gave him her number just to make it home alive. Blocked it the second her door locked behind her. Men call this “leading someone on.” Women call it survival. Men will never fully grasp the calculations women make in real time just to stay alive.

@i_aadk J'ai fini mon deuxième master à 21 ans. A part mon père ça n'a jamais impressionné personne. Jamais aucun recruteur m'a dit bravo. Ils s'en foutent vraiment hein. L'important c'est la compétence, une fois que tu l'as c'est bon. Ya plein de gens qui passent des diplômés a 30+

@DeeRubies @luxemiaa I learn from a very young age to ignore mess / chore to do around the house to match the male vibe. Don't rush to clean the table, wait til they can't handle the chaos anymore and they have to clean by themself. Don't let them believe you have a feminine urge to dot it first.

My mother never made my brother a single sandwich after he turned ten. I didn't understand it then. I'd watch her point at the kitchen and say, "You have two hands and you know where the bread is." He'd grumble. She wouldn't budge. Meanwhile, my friend's house was different. She was the oldest of three boys. Every meal, every snack, every drink—she fetched it. Her mom called it "being helpful." Her dad called it "being a good sister." My friend called it normal. Until it wasn't. We were sixteen when my friend started dating a boy who expected her to carry his bags, order his food, clean up after him at lunch. She did it without question. When I asked her why, she looked confused. "That's just what you do," she said. I thought about my mother. The bread. The two hands. The refusal to raise a daughter who served and a son who sat. At eighteen, I dated a guy who asked me to make him a plate at a family cookout while he played video games with his cousins. His own mother had made the food. It was ten feet away. He had working legs. I heard my mom's voice in my head: "You have two hands." I said, "The food's right there. You can make your own plate." He looked at me like I'd insulted his entire bloodline. We didn't last another month. At twenty-four, I married a man who makes his own sandwiches. Makes mine too sometimes. Not because I demanded it—but because he was raised to be capable, not catered to. My friend married at twenty-two. Divorced by twenty-five. She told me once, through tears, that she'd spent three years being his "mother, maid, and manager" and couldn't do it anymore. "I don't know how I got here," she said. But I knew. It started with sandwiches. With "be nice." With small asks that became big expectations. With the lie that serving men is what good women do. My mother wasn't harsh. She was wise. She taught my brother that capable men don't lean on women for things they can do themselves. And she taught me that kindness and servitude are not the same thing. One lesson. Two kids. A lifetime of clarity. Some mothers raise daughters to be helpful and sons to be served. Mine raised us both to be whole. 💯

This woman said: I have joint custody with my ex husband. My ex asked my daughter (16) if she would make her brother (12) a sandwich. She said, he knows how to make a sandwich so he can make his own. His response? “You’re the big sister. Be nice.” I told her in NO UNIVERSE are you doing for a man things he can do for himself. Not now, not ever. Now, I get to have a chat with my son about how he’s being raised an independent young man and not leaning on the unpaid labor of the women in his life.

One thing that's strange as a straight woman is being able to recognize the beauty & conformity to beauty standards of women more than the people allegedly attracted to women. Muscles bad. Curves bad. "Old" bad.

@beniduboss + the whole drama about "top" uni is meaningless. Admission tests are though, but for the rest (at least for business school/ political science institutes) is mainly learn to pose as a leader and networking with other upper class students..

Speaking with French people in a business setting is so funny They be 48yo and they’re still asking peers what uni they went to 98% of them peaked in college so they feel obligated to tell you within the first 10 minutes of meeting them that they went to Polytechnique, ENS ULM or HEC What you accomplished since literally doesn’t matter because you attended a top school so you’re part of the « elite » I find it so pathetic Perhaps your country would be doing better if you were proud of your accomplishments the same way you’re proud that daddy paid for HEC Anyways Sorry I am done venting I just had the most cringe call of my life I had to let it out
