@45Truth That’s clearly not true as the J6 insurrectionists are still breathing
English

Because the people who have convinced you he's insane and incompetent know that trying to overthrow the duly elected President of the United States will get them hanged by the neck until dead.
But because of Obamas Smith Mundt Act of 2012, they can make it up as they go to entertain you.
Aren't you entertained?

@liam43102 @awalmsley11 The TOCs maybe in or heading towards public ownership but the ROSCOs are owned by private equity and bleeding the system dry
English

@awalmsley11 All fare revenue goes to the government. Post Covid TOCs are paid a management fee to run the trains. The screen grab looks to be from LNER, which is under the state umbrella already.
English

I completely agree this is high fare. But this is a supply and demand issue. If the fare was £50 you wouldn’t physically be able to get on the train. We need more capacity in the UK.
Alexander@alexanderrX_
the uk is not real. wanted to visit family in edinburgh for the bank holiday. i have a railcard, 30% off, should be fine? £200 return. for a train. this country is beyond saving

@but_cyclists I think some people are confused between lanes and carriageways
English

@ParisInGreen The last Gov told Network Rail to remove electrification from plans.
The current Gov had cancelled electrification on the rest of the network.

East-West Rail: A new £7Bn line connecting Oxford & Milton Keynes was finished 16 months ago.
But it remains without trains & useless to families who moved to be next to it”
“We live three minutes from Winslow station - and can’t catch a train.

@jk_rowling It’s actually called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

@alphafox You’re a liar. The modem has 28800 printed on it. It’s not 2400

Doesn't Israel have 2,500 soldiers they can deploy for this purpose?
Why should it be Americans? Genuine question.

Boots on the ground in Iran!? My guess is that they will be used to secure the littoral area around the Strait of Hormuz. The bigger question is whether that becomes a beachhead for a full-scale invasion, or just a limited operation.
English

@MbarkCherguia Given that motorists who kill often walk away with just a fine or suspended sentence, this is clearly far too harsh

@HYPEX Tim Sweeney (CEO of Epic) is down to his last $5.1 billion so needs to increase profits!
English

@TheCinesthetic As impressive as this is, Gandhi (1982) used 300,000 extras!
English

@NoelDolphin The bus company is privately owned so we’re giving taxpayer money away so a private company can make even bigger profits. Make it make sense
English

@Type07Safety That’s fine. We don’t want your 50,000 gun deaths per year and weekly school massacres
English

@simongerman600 When 20% VAT was removed on UK female sanitary products, prices fell by 1% on average
English

Awesome bit of data that makes intuitive sense.
“Finland cut VAT on haircuts in 2007 to see if cheaper prices would boost demand and jobs. But when the tax fell by €4, many salons lowered prices by only €2 and kept the rest as profit. When VAT rose again, prices jumped by the full €4, turning a temporary tax cut into a permanent price hike. It’s tax incidence in action: firms with pricing power pass on cuts partly, and hikes fully.”

@_HenryBolton Genuine question: since the last operational parachute jump was *seventy* years ago (Suez, 1956), how important is this capability?
English

Some of us foresaw this when the C130s were all retired.
The Unconventional Soldier Podcast@TheUCS473
"...controversial cut-back is understood to have been proposed as part of the Gov's long-delayed Defence Investment Plan (DIP). A source said the RAF had asked for the Paras to no longer jump fm its A400M planes on the grounds that there are simply not enough of the aircraft."

@CitizenUddin I wish Oxford would bring in CCTV enforcement. The blocking of yellow boxes creates so much extra congestion
English

@ParisInGreen Some are enforced by CCTV. Not this one though. (When it's repainted)

Due to the failure of @EalingCouncil still not repainting the yellow box junction here, yet again, chaos reigns.
