@shaliniseth @karthikavk I don’t think that’s true. Indian writers have their own brand of English because they think in English and one or more Indian languages, and it’s unique and it does capture their worlds and their voices.

@karthikavk Read Indian writers in Hindi - translated from Bangla/Malayalam/Punjabi I find that Indian writing does well in languages of the country Loved some Indian books in English - Vikram Seth comes to mind. Not that many. By and large, English doesn't capture our worlds.

Our book club met today, a let's-gift-books year-ender. Turned out 99 pc brought international classics or bestsellers. What does that say about reading patterns in India? How are Indian fiction publishers to thrive when the buzz is always elsewhere? What are we doing wrong?

If we could prioritise one thing to improve tourism in India, it would be clean, safe toilets for women.

@Parulsharma Hey @Parulsharma Hope you are doing well. As a seasoned book publisher I can surely help her publish her book on various platform including amazon, etc. Moreover if the manuscript needs any sort of editing i can do that too. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you

Met a young writer at the Bangalore Lit Fest who writes for children. She’s self-published her first book and is now looking for a publisher. Can anyone connect her with children’s lit publishers? Please tag or DM me! Thanks, kind people.

As someone who has been attending Jashn e Rekhta since its first edition, I’ve always admired how it set the gold standard for celebrating Urdu — its language, literature, culture, and heritage. However, this year felt noticeably different. Thread…for @JashneRekhta #jashnerekhta

I’m looking at my Spotify wrapped. I wonder what sort of hurt I must’ve been nursing when I listened to Himesh advising me that tera pyaar pyaar pyaar is in fact hookah bar.

Can You Spot Two World Champions? The first time I noticed Gukesh was here, the quieter one, always absorbing the class with remarkable focus. And then there was Pragg, by far the most restless kid, bursting with energy, who couldn't stop blurting out the answers. I remember Rakshita Ravi being there too. In the far end, is that Leon? Perhaps, the seeds of WACA were sown here. @FIDE_chess @WacaChess
