CEPAs provide opportunities for businesses. They provide robust customs and tariff frameworks, simplify customs procedures, and ensure fair, predictable rules for services. H.E. Fahad AlGergawi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade @MIITEUAE

As knowledge entrepreneurs with the home-grown wpm.ae, the usual SMS welcoming us "back home to the UAE" on our #DXB return took on a new meaning this time. It is our privilege to continue documenting thought leadership in action in the UAE 🇦🇪 and the region.

A heartwarming display of friendship between 🇮🇳 & 🇦🇪! Young talents from Malhaar, a UAE-based Indian cultural group, united to perform a soulful rendition of the UAE National Anthem, beautifully blending Indian Classical instruments. #India #IncredibleIndia #IndianEmbassyAbuDhabi

Data For India
Data For India@dataforin·
Of the three key sectors that a country’s economy is divided into - agriculture, industry and services - agriculture is still crucial to the Indian economy. However, this is changing in two important ways. In the 1970s, about three-fourths of India's workers were engaged in agriculture. Today, the share of agriculture in employment has dropped to less than half, though it is still the largest among all major sectors. For both rural men and women, farming continues to be the chief occupation. Nearly half of all working men, and over three-quarters of working women in rural India, are engaged in agriculture. But there are differences - all of the top five occupations for rural women are related to agriculture. In contrast, construction work and shopkeeping have become key occupations for rural men, who have moved out of agriculture at a faster pace than rural women. However, the share of workers that agriculture employs has not fallen as sharply as its share in the economy. Employing nearly half of India’s workforce, agriculture generates only one-fifth of the nation’s value added in the economy. Which sector has overtaken agriculture in adding value to the Indian economy? Read @akwaghmare’s piece to find out: dataforindia.com/agriculture-sh… #Employment #Agriculture #Economy #India #DataForIndia

@leonardjensan Putting my support of this on record! As a reader, the best bookstores let one expand one's reading list out of bestsellers. Employees recommended books Now, all bookshops seem to stock the PR flavour of the day. Employees are busy playing loud music Selection is key for both

Putting this out there - if you've been toying with the idea of starting a small bookshop and need to brainstorm, I am available for a chat. India needs more bookshops.

The course I teach at Cambridge has become exorbitantly expensive and is inaccessible for most people. So I've decided to share the entire reading list with the public — here, via this thread. My course is called "Development Economics" and consists of 8 lectures. 🧵

@Psychodoctor06 I understand that sometimes mere presence can soothes But in your case, your friend and you spoke, connected In the article, she talks about mom complaining - clearly, proximity is not enough for both parties. It's lazy Being in a temple is different-god doesn't want to engage

Long time ago, when I was going through a difficult time, I had asked my friend to meet me everyday. He was staying close to my clinic. He used to come everyday to my clinic after my work ended. We used to talk about general things. Some news, some science, some chess, some jokes, some social happenings. He was a wise person. He never asked me why I called him daily. I did not feel the need to share anything. But the general interaction and his presence was enough for me to feel good in a few days. Our daily meetings went on for a week. Nowadays we are connected more on phone. But we still meet at times. Sometimes just the presence of a person can stabilise us, make us feel good. No sharing is needed. Have you had any such experience ? Who is that person for you whose mere presence soothes you ? P.S: The child having a favourite toy is a similar experience. The toy stabilises and soothes the child in difficult times. #mentalhealth

This is an indispensable paper. It shows how protection of intellectual property is driving intense concentration of corporate wealth and power, exacerbating global inequality.

The internet is making us forget names, and we know it. ✍️ Wrote about how, in addition to phone numbers, we’re now offloading the memory of names to our devices, too. We don’t call out names, we type a few letters, scroll through inboxes, or tap a face in a feed.
