I extend my sincere apologies to Atiku Abubakar. After engaging with some of his supporters, it is clear that he has a genuine intention to contribute to Nigeria’s progress. To my fellow Obidients, it is important that we do not allow emotions to override strategic thinking. Politics requires collaboration and coalition-building. Peter Obi, as strong as his candidacy may be, cannot achieve this alone. From a realistic political standpoint, a viable pathway to power may involve alignment. A joint ticket, with Obi as a vice-presidential candidate to Atiku, could present a broader and more competitive front. Atiku Abubakar now has a range of notable OBI's to consider as potential vice-presidential candidates, including Ebuka Obi, Obi Cubana, Joel Obi, and John Mikel Obi. #AtikuObi2027

Peter Obi entangling with ADC clearly shows his weaknesses As much as I hate APC and I want them gone, Peter Obi is too naive to remove these people if we are being honest Since Labour Party scattered after 2023 He shouldn’t have joined them el rufai and co in moving to ADC, forming his own new party alone would have been way better than all these mess, I saw it from the beginning. Especially knowing atiku the perpetual contestant will also do everything possible to get ADC ticket smh

IGBOS: TIME TO LEARN HOW THE GAME OF POLITICS IS PLAYED. The biggest challenge we have is selfishness. Father is running his business but hardly teaches the children the secrets because he wants to remain the main man. Someone like Peter Obi now can't boast of a single person he raised in politics after being Governor for eight years. Oya how many of his previous commissioners move around with him? Many times we think the Yorubas are not smart for allowing one person to be their leader. That way they have always moved faster. Reached quicker consensus. Look at how many people Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has raised . How many Igbo leaders apart from Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, can boast of raising men? We always think there are outsiders who hate us or working against us No one. Our selfishness is the problem. And our inability to accept truth . Peter Obi is moving around now trying to be president but can't sit the youths down and get us to discuss issues that has made his mission impossible. The issue of January 15 coup. We'll keep wasting time and living in denial and time is running. Imagine this... While every state is still dragging Lagos has already chosen a Governor. And most people in Lagos will support the choice. Do you know why? He's a credible candidate. The problem of the igboman in Nigeria is not Yoruba or Hausa or Fulani. We simply don't know how to play this game. And we're selfish. Ugoji Maximillian.

The concept of a man who as governor could not sponsor his state’s team to National sports festival or even build a township stadium telling Nigerian youths the usefulness of sports and they’re lapping it up. All of you love Fugazi. I hope he wins so you can witness it in 3D
Peter Obi@PeterObi

The Transformative Power of Sport Sports have the unique power to forge identity and legacy. Iconic figures like Pelé and Plato - originally named Edson Arantes do Nascimento and Aristocles - carried names earned through athletic prowess rather than birth. This reveals a profound truth: sports are not merely entertainment; they are a crucible for character and excellence. With this in mind, I arrived early in Ibadan today and observed the ongoing clean-up exercise. I parked beside the Lekan Salami Stadium, where groups of young people were actively engaged in basketball, lawn tennis, handball, and judo. It was uplifting to witness their discipline and energy. Such scenes reflect progress and offer a powerful glimpse into the immense potential of our youth. I made it a point to stop and encourage them because sports are more than just a game - they are a lifeline as well as a critical sector that deserves greater investment and support. For these young men, sports serve as a powerful engine for social mobility and personal reinvention. By instilling relentless discipline and teamwork, the field becomes a space where they can transcend their circumstances, sharpen their resolve, and transform their raw potential into a lasting legacy of excellence. A new Nigeria is Possible. -PO

Yesterday in Ibadan I had an encounter with someone that made me realise that we have not spoken about the travails we face enough! He was shocked that I was not surprised about how the OAU, Ife event Peter Obi @PeterObi was supposed to attend turned out! I told him it is a normal thing we face. I went on to ask him why does he think Peter Obi usually visits private Nursing schools or those run by missionaries? He didn’t know. I told him because the ones run by government would not allow him to visit or the officials take anything from him. While people were making assumptions that he was being biased in favouring some sections of the country, it was really because they were the ones that will welcome him. I told him about Chibok community. They reached out to me about the Chibok school from which 276 #ChibokGirls were abducted from in 2014 did not have computers. As soon as I told Mr Peter Obi he told me to make arrangement with the school that we will visit Chibok donate computers and printers (which they had not even asked for) and access other needs that they have and take care of them. First we were denied from going. Then Mr Peter Obi suggested we visit the capital and give them or any neighboring state, that was also turned down. The next was bringing the principal and some teachers with students to Abuja. They were not allowed to come. At the end Mr Peter Obi met with some members of the chibok community in Abuja and handed over the computers and printers to them with monetary assistance which he gave. @salakwa1 can provide more details sef! Most of the charity is with coconut head! They have been doing everything to truncate it!

OBIMANIA HITS THE CROWD IN IBADAN AS PETER OBI ATTENDS THE OPPOSITION PARTY LEADER'S SUMMIT Na our president be this!”, The crowd chants as Peter Obi arrived. This is beautiful. But then it's just unfortunate that Mr Peter Obi keeps wasting his political opportunities. Only people who like to deceive themselves will say Obi doesn't have street credibility. I am an objective person, I don't deceive myself . Obi is popular. But like I always say, street credibility doesn't win elections on its own. Fela had street credibility, but in 1979 he formed a party called Movement of the people and he wanted to run for president. The party no geh level...he couldn't go anywhere. Gani Fawenhimi had street credibility...but when he joined politics, he couldn't go anywhere. Buhari had street credibility...he was getting 12M votes when he was contesting under weak parties just like Obi is doing. He kept losing until he met a man with structure. When he met with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , his victory came. Obi is a popular candidate, no doubts about that. But no strategy. There's no miracles that can make Obi president in 2027 with the level of preparation on the side of the APC. And the weak level of preparation on the side of the opposition. Now compare these opposition leaders and parties now with APC at this point in 2014. It was clear that APC was going to defeat the PDP. We practically tookover the air waves and the Internet. But today, these ones are still holding a summit in Ibadan where the Governor Makinde is going to be begging them to sacrifice their ambitions and work together. Promising to support the party financially. By this time in 2014-5, was APC still unsure of who was going to be their candidate? Were they still dragging and playing internal politics? By this time Lai Mohammed, Adam oshiomole and those SW ACN caucus had taken over the news headlines . They practically drove National discussions. Jonathan and his team were on TV everyday trying to defend one allegation or the other raised by Lai Mohammed and co. In all honesty, do you see the clouds or atmosphere set for an imminent defeat of the APC? I want to hear from you. Ugoji Maximillian.

TROOPS DISMANTLE IPOB/ESN STRONGHOLD, RECOVER SUSPECTED REMAINS OF SLAIN PERSONNEL IN IMO STATE The Nigerian Army has recorded another significant operational success in its sustained efforts to rid the South East of criminal elements, as troops of 82 Division, in conjunction with sister services and other security agencies, successfully dismantled a notorious camp belonging to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Imo State. Acting on intelligence information, the operation, conducted on 24 April 2026 along the Ubaha Orsu axis of Orsu Local Government Area, was part of a deliberate clearance and search mission aimed at dismantling IPOB/ESN hideout within the region and locating the remains of two personnel of the Nigerian Army, Master Warrant Officer Linus Musa Audu and Private Gloria Mathew, who were brutally abducted and murdered by IPOB/ESN terrorists in May 2022 while en route for their traditional wedding. Acting on credible intelligence, troops advanced towards a suspected IPOB/ESN hideout when they came under heavy attack by armed criminals. Demonstrating resilience, the troops decisively engaged the terrorists, successfully repelling multiple ambushes and forcing the criminals to flee in disarray. The encounter further exposed the desperation and criminal nature of the group, which continues to target innocent citizens and security personnel alike. Following the successful clearance of the camp, troops conducted a thorough search of the area and made a grim but important discovery shallow graves suspected to contain the remains of the slain personnel. The graves were carefully excavated and suspected remains were recovered. The recovered remains have since been secured for detailed forensic analysis, including DNA testing, to conclusively establish their identities. Efforts are also ongoing to liaise with the families of the fallen personnel to ensure proper identification and facilitate befitting burial arrangements in honour of their sacrifice. This operation not only underscores the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to ensuring justice for fallen heroes but also highlights the continued degradation of IPOB/ESN criminal networks and infrastructure across the South East. The discovery of shallow graves within their camp further exposes the group’s heinous atrocities and disregard for human life. The Nigerian Army reassures the general public that ongoing operations will continue until all criminal elements are neutralised and lasting peace is restored across the region. We appreciate the Law-abiding citizens for the information and urge you remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies with timely and credible information. The Nigerian Army remains resolute, professional and committed to defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria.

Troubling Developments from the citadel of learning. The reason Universities are regarded as an ivory tower is because its seen as centres for pure, isolated intellectual thought. It's therefore worrisome when they are increasingly pressured to operate outside this norm. Today, I was scheduled to be at Obafemi Awolowo University at 9am prompt to deliver a keynote lecture, before proceeding to Ibadan for the opposition parties' political summit scheduled to commence at 12noon. The invitation was extended to me several months ago, and adequate preparations had been made. Regrettably, I received the news that the event would no longer be held in the University as planned. While such occurrences may be dismissed in isolation, it is important to state clearly that this has now happened more than ten times. This is no longer incidental; it points to a troubling pattern that should concern all well-meaning Nigerians. My alma mater, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka was not excluded. The family of one of the renowned UNN Vice Chancellor late Professor Frank Ndili had planned an annual lecture on his behalf and the inaugural lecture was to be delivered, but on the scheduled date it was cancelled by the University authority. These are not merely personal inconveniences; they raise deeper questions about the kind of environment we are nurturing in our country. Universities are meant to be centres of learning, open dialogue, and the free exchange of ideas. When platforms for constructive engagement are repeatedly constrained, it reflects a worrying shift away from these ideals. This concern becomes even more pronounced when viewed against my engagements across the world, where I have been privileged to speak and interact freely with students and scholars in respected institutions. In the past 24 months, I have delivered lectures in notable universities globally including Oxford University, Cambridge University, Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, Chicago University, University of Pennsylvania, Imperial College, to name a few. Those environments continue to demonstrate openness to dialogue, critical thinking, and shared learning, values that should equally define our own institutions. We must ask ourselves: what kind of nation are we building if spaces meant for intellectual engagement are gradually shrinking? A country’s progress is anchored on its ability to encourage knowledge, debate, and the contest of ideas, not restrict them. Nigeria must work towards becoming a place where ideas thrive, where knowledge is shared without fear, and where our institutions uphold the principles they were established to protect. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
