Every time I visit a Muslim country, I'm reminded how deeply faith can shape everyday life. There's a constant awareness of God that seems to permeate the culture. Returning to much of the West, the contrast feels stark. Spirituality has been replaced by the pursuit of wealth, consumption, and capitalism.
