@lilpookiepooks @PassivityF @ChuderlyAmazing @liquid2ulu I think that's terrible logic. Even the apparently voluntary actions in a modern democracy are backstopped by a network of laws and enforcement mechanisms. If you go to a country with weak government you aren't going to find a utopia of voluntary interaction.

@801formal_llama @liquid2ulu @lilpookiepooks I think the question is coherent, but it shows the self-defeating nature of libertarianism. It's a philosophy emerging from pure ideology with no accommodations made for reality or human nature. Unlike the interviewer, most of us figure this out before we start losing our hair.

@801formal_llama @liquid2ulu @lilpookiepooks “The nonsense” is just revealing the truth of gov’t - that it is an initiation of the use of force. One can argue it’s justified or unjustified, but weaseling out of the question doesn’t negate the truth of the premise.

@liquid2ulu @lilpookiepooks Bernie is right here. The question isn't coherent and Bernie saw right through the nonsense.

And once again the elite are trying to gaslight the regular folk. Yes Jeff, it would help so many people if you paid that wealth tax. No one needs that much money in life and especially when it’s been off the backs of those same people. Your company would not exist if it wasn’t for the workers!

Jeff Bezos on CNBC: "If people want me to pay more billions, then let's have that debate, but don't pretend that that's gonna solve the problem. You could double the taxes I pay, and it's not gonna help that teacher in Queens.... Airbnb isn't causing high rents. What's really causing high rent is government intervention."

Holy crap! - Play as a Plantation Owner. - Raise your crops. - Motivate your workers...with a whip...what??? It's been up and going viral. I give it another hour or two on Steam before it's yanked. That's some catchy music tho...

Ed Gallrein’s victory in KY and Clay Fuller’s win in GA ensures two outspoken pro-Israel voices are positioned to fill seats previously held by outspoken detractors, Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Our community was proud to help pro-Israel candidates win these races.

Whatever your view of Thomas Massie’s defeat in KY, it’s a clear signal that Boomer hegemony still runs the GOP. The online right can win arguments, set narratives & generate cultural heat, but at the ballot box, Boomers still reign supreme. Republican primary voters averaging age 64 still watch Fox News, still trust Hannity & still obey Trump. Millennial+Zoomer dissidents may own the timeline, but Boomers still own the GOP…

@eiszett Have you read all the sources you ever cited? During my PhD we, along with dozens of other papers, cited a paper that I later found did not contain the result for which it was commonly cited. I should be banned I guess.

Occasional errors and oversights are part of science. If we lost our driver’s license for a year every time we exceeded the speed limit by 10 km/h, daily life would become unworkable. Many countries instead use point systems, where trust can be rebuilt through good behavior.

Hey, I wonder why all those donors poured so much money into the Massie primary but little to nothing into the Virginia referendum that would have wiped out multiple GOP seats if they hadn't been saved at the last minute by the state supreme court?

Gen Z, 26. Haven't bought a nice shiny thing in 7 years. Meal plan for savings. Don't eat out. Minimalist lifestyle. Never had any debt, do not plan on gaining any. I will have to move to Paraguay to have a reasonable future even while saving like a freak. I hear this 24/7.
Disaffected@DisaffectedPod

He's right. It doesn't matter if you dislike him, he is right. What that means is not subjective, it's objective. He's telling the truth that is verifiable in the real world. And it does, absolutely, make Gen Z furious.

There it is. With Massie’s defeat, If you’re against pedophiles and child trafficking, if you oppose illegal wars of aggression or even MILDLY criticize Israel, there is no place for you in the Republican Party. That is now a fact. The fascist terrorist imperialist death cult is doing what it does. The cult is culting.

@nickgillespie @JoshEakle That's because even though making almonds takes a lot of water, almonds are actually incredibly useful to hundreds of millions of people AI is not. So why give AI any water that would better be used to grow more almonds?

@iAnonPatriot If you were raised maybe 1975 or later nothing in the culture told you “marriage and family.” It was in the background as though one day it would just happen. All the encouragement from age 5 to 19 is “school! Grades! College! School! Grades! College!”
