The majority of them are arguing blindly for people who they see as pets in need of a white savior, not people. It’s not racist to treat black Americans the same as their white counterparts. This Alabamian’s description of living in the West and North around white progressives sums up their attitudes perfectly: “The thing that shocked me the most is how segregated they are. … The white people out there, they don’t talk to y’all like people. They don’t interact with people of color that much. When they do interact with them, it’s very weird the way they talk to them [like they’re not a person].” This is why leftists think black people need gerrymandered districts. They live in a segregated world. They can’t fathom the fact that black and white Southerners are much more likely to, and in many cases do, live in integrated communities.
