Why would anyone think that Ron DeSantis is a great governor & presidential material when the Florida public school education system is in shambles?? Florida ranks 36th for K-12 math & 45th for K-12 reading. Florida ranks dead last for teacher pay & has a huge teacher shortage. Florida students rank 49th in SAT math scores. How can the Florida higher education system be ranked 1st in the country when Florida's students can't do math or read?? US News only uses the number of graduates as its criteria. It doesn't say that the education received is worth a damn. Florida is graduating illiterate children from high school & college. The state employee healthcare system which covers teachers is a wreck & it's facing huge deficits. Florida ranks 42nd for healthcare. Doctors, nurses & hospitals are fleeing Florida. The state itself is facing huge budget deficits starting in 2027 which is conveniently the year DeSantis leaves office. The state pension fund won't be fully funded until 2042 at current pay & employee levels. That means that if teachers do ever start receiving decent pay the pension fund is going to be in serious trouble. Florida was once ranked 1st in government transparency yet under DeSantis the state has dropped to 49th with less than 35% of records requests being fulfilled & most often they are only partially fulfilled. So someone please education me on what DeSantis has done that is so great?? Florida school children are illiterate. The state is going broke & if you get sick in Florida you are likely to die. DeSantis spent money that should have gone to fix the states real problems on culture war nonsense & pleasing Donald Trump. If you think a 24/7 state trooper presence costing millions of dollars to guard an intersection over chalk that washes away in the rain is good governance there's something seriously wrong with you. If you think wasting tax dollars to fight sharia law when Muslims are less than 1% of Florida's population & only 1.3% of the US population is necessary you are in a cult. If you think that putting a racist & bigoted organization like TPUSA in schools with illiterate children & bad teachers is good for the state you need to wear your hood & robe full time. The management skills of Ron DeSantis are 3rd rate at best. Florida isn't even in the top 15 for fiscal health yet the DeSantis cult thinks he's a genius. Ron DeSantis couldn't even keep up with the inmates that he had thrown into his Alligator Alcatraz concentration camp. Two thirds of the AA inmates are missing. The facility was $158 million over budget in less than 2 months. AA guards & management staff are paid more than triple the amount that state prison guards & management are paid. It costs more than twice as much to keep an inmate at Alligator Alcatraz than it does to keep an inmate in a maximum security federal prison yet only 7% of the inmates at AA have charges or convictions for violent crimes. It should be noted that in Keeping with DeSantis' standard operating procedures all 11 of the over priced contracts to manage AA went to donors of Ron DeSantis & the Florida GOP. DeSantis has issued billions of dollars in no bid contracts to his donors since he became governor. The only thing that DeSantis is really good at is lying & being just another corrupt politician. The people who worship Ron DeSantis refuse to look at what is really happening in Florida because they want to act like maga & defend their favorite politician no matter what. They ignore the truth & call it leftist garbage just like maga does with Trump.
