Tweeps, it finally happened. After 17 months on the job market and over 550 jobs applied to, I am happy to announce that I have accepted a position as a Historian at the U.S. Center for Military History, starting October. I GOT A JOB!!! (Also, hit me up DMV-area friends).

About 11 years ago, our -80 freezer kept getting left open & defrosting everyone's samples. I repeatedly reminded folks to be more careful but it kept happening. Finally I said, next time I'd go to the security cam in the freezer room & whoever keeps doing it was in trouble. 1/n

Met with acquisitions editor for dissertation/book. Nothing is signed yet but it sounds like I might be in the early stages of maybe possibly getting a publisher for my book. We agreed that a proposal is the way to go (vs just editing/submitting the diss. MS). But hey; woot woot!
