🚨Dramatic takedown in downtown San Diego. A 25-year-old parking attendant was sitting on an electrical box near the Tailgate Padres Parking lot when 20-year-old Lathapoun Keovongsa approached and struck him multiple times in the head with a wooden cane - an unprovoked attack. The victim suffered lacerations and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers later located attacker, but he refused to listen to police commands and non-lethal rounds had no effect. The K9 was deployed, and he reportedly struck the dog multiple times. The K9 bit him on the arm, allowing officers to take him into custody. Charges include assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and harming a police dog.

@craigbedford @nut_history Fair enough but the United Center has been around since the 90’s and to me it’s still the Chicago Stadium. Same with whatever the White Sox park is called now. It will always be Comiskey Park.

@nut_history They changed the name of the stadium 21 years ago. You'd think that would be long enough for people to get used to something. Stadium/arena name changes are pretty common in major sports.

@dabearsblog The other side of that coin is both teams will be a little distracted and we gotta play them anyway. We’d also have 9 home games and only 6 road games thereafter.

If the league sends the Bears to Seattle for the opener, and then to Buffalo to open their new building, that would just be a brutal way to open the season.
