@turnabouttess From the beginning on the commentators just play against each other and discuss variants that have nothing to do with the actual game. The actual game is shown on 16×16 pixels in the C4 square of the boars on which the commontators play against each other.

So I keep seeing a common sentiment of "we need more money at the bottom" So up and comers have motivation to grind and challenge the top guns. Currently for that to happen tournaments are shaving off money from the main event prizepools to add them to qualiers where the almost qualified players make 700usd (at most) I've a question and I'd love your honest opinions and perspectives since i want to make a video on this: We have way too many S tiers a year which are the main source of income for many top players, myself included, with everytime less prizepool (or needing community funding) Wouldn't it be better to have LESS big events a year, like 3-4? Allow up and comers to grind and reach out to players like myself who will teach them happily how to prepare for a tournament (spamming games isnt the way spoiler slert) and be able to get the big bucks in s tiers? 3-4 s tiers a year with big prizepools and in the meantime showmatches for up and comers, ladder ranking incentives, smaller events for them, etc Its a very weird logic, in my opinion, to "punish" to top players who invest the most amount of time in the game by reducing their prizepool in the hopes that some part time player will have a hero run. Hard work should be rewarded not punished. And to grow we should all grow together. That said, its an opinion of im sure many and i would LOVE to read your suggestions Cheers!

@DautLord If they are not on Liquipedia, they dont matter to me /s I have twitch notifications on my phone for the streamers I am interested in, I cant remember when I missed something despite having time to watch it.

How aware are you of upcoming streams, and matches by your favourite creators?

@paradox303_ I agree! 4 invitees would be enough and basing it on a tournament from almost 4 years ago is also questionable. NAC did it with 1 year in between which was questionable already imo, but 4 years is just crazy. We have tournament elo, that is way better (at the highest level) imo.

I really do hope that Hidden Cup moves away from the 8 player invites for future editions. It’s just way too many for a random bracket. I think it was maybe fine in the past to a certain degree, but not now. Historically, players have to play one hidden bo5 and if you win a spot is secured in the next edition. It leaves far too much up to chance for the next edition of the tournament. Personally, I do think random brackets are fine, but allocating 50% invites for the next edition doesn’t seem right. Leaves way too much up to chance. Just moving to 4 invites (semi finals) would be a huge improvement and would remove a bit more randomness and reward getting deeper in the competition.

I started helping larry and heartt for hidden cup qualifiers and it's shocking to me how hard it is to switch for games modes every tournament Every event has its own start (3/9 vills), its own gimmicks, its own drafting system its own "wanna be unique in a way" and tho i can see how viewers might like the variety i personally think the lack of consistency in certain things like the start of the game takes away from the competitiveness at times, specially with events being always so close. What do you guys think? Do you prefer 3 vills start? 9 vills start? Is it confusing to have different rules and settings every event? Im curious to read your thoughts!

@DVitzhaki @day9tv We had Nilis Apartment Cup lately, a tournament where the 10 qualified players came together to Berlin and played in an apartment. It shows the energy in the pro scene the best imo. You can find it on the Youtube channel of Nili_AoE

@day9tv Never watched pro2 before. Can you recommend a good match with good commentators to start with?

My most watched game in 2023 was Age of Empires 2. The casters, players, and community are unbelievable. Everyone seems to be on the same page promoting, supporting, and ENJOYING the game!
