Graham Platner isn’t just our best and only chance to beat Susan Collins, he’s a good, decent man who’s struggled and grown and is always trying to do better. I hope everyone with reservations takes a little time to get to know the real life version of him, not what the algorithm throws in our faces. Clearly, that’s what so many people in Maine have done - from all different walks of life and political persuasions.

The allegations against Graham Platner are disturbing and sickening. Moral character still matters. He should drop out of the race immediately.

I am withdrawing my endorsement of Graham Platner and calling on him to exit the race immediately so that he can be replaced by a progressive fighter who will deliver for the people and help win back the Senate. These allegations are devastating and must be taken seriously.

Imagine if Rome had quietly reviewed the four candidates, permitted the consecrations, and continued the dialogue that both Benedict XVI and Francis chose to pursue with the SSPX. What would really have changed? The Society would now have six bishops instead of two. I suspect history will view this as a missed pastoral opportunity, where canonical concerns ultimately took precedence over the care of souls.

I just think it’s funny that the “Patriot Front” jabroneys are too embarrassed to show their faces carrying the American flag. Not very patriotic. Likewise, it’s funny that people who call themselves American patriots carry flags for a cause that sought to destroy America. But, hey, if they want to march in equatorial heat to be mocked by pretty much everyone that’s cool. I just don’t think they’ve thought through any of this very well.
