@_TyAnderson It could be an excuse as well but I think there is something to Sturm’s comment about knowing how to play his system. NHL vets on the Bruins struggled early in the year at adapting to it. Let the kid practice, then see it love, then throw him in Sunday

I would throw him right in, but I understand it from a coach’s perspective. Sturm repeatedly saying he wants to make sure it’s right spot for Hagens tells me it’s a legitimate thing for him. Ultimately the first game is gonna be uncomfortable to some degree.

My own feeling is this is Sturm trusting his team to take care of business and clinch tomorrow and then go from there. I do think your point is a good one. Tampa coming in with three straight losses and they don’t like each other. 1st game always gonna be hard but there’s levels.

Roger McQueen didn't make a big jump in his D+1 year, switching over to the NCAA. In fact, he stayed at the same level. Not great for one of the oldest players in the 2025 draft.

I think people are looking at this way too adversarially and I don’t get it. “Prima donna, inmates running asylum.” Player has NCAA eligibility remaining and at a program he loves, so if he’s leaving, he wants it to be right call. This is also just what you do with top prospects.

@_TyAnderson Sweeney has always preached that spots on this team aren't handed out. If Hagens expects a spot without putting in the work to prove himself, he doesn't belong here. The Bruins have a tight-knit room, and they don't need any prima donnas coming in and disrupting that chemistry.
