I don’t agree i think it’s just another deadly dance to destruction. If this happens they will reduce fields beyond repair. The pantomime that has nearly all been caused by their own incompetence will end up letting these terrible rulers provide a solution to their own problem, it will then lead to yet more concessions with the festival heading toward grand national territory thats when they start saying that nobody’s bothered anymore. The jockeys do also need to take some responsibility.

@Patrick07876944 @BarstewardsThe Yes but you get bigger field sizes on the flat than you do at Cheltenham. The start for the hunter chase was a first timer but it was an absolute mess and shouldn’t have been a first timer. Get them all stood in a line from a set of stalls and you get a fair start

Agree with you on many things Darran but field sizes are a must at cheltenham and theres absolutely no need for these at cheltenham IMO All they need is a few people with a brain (granted that seems hard these days) id say not to not have the horses starting on narrow bends and maybe revert to as they did 20/30 yrs ago when they had far bigger fields might be a start

The reason id be dubious about David Jason is that they really want to remove OFAH from history and all the screens and repeats because of the non pc humour of the time. The problem is for them is that it is such a national institution that there would be absolute uproar (the bcc already never shows it anymore) even with it being its finest ever show. People don’t seem to realise anymore that a quality commentator adds so much to the race for the tv audience. Racing was spoilt with Peter Osullevan followed by Aussie Jim McGrath and then by Simon Holt who sadly was co commentator on this awful shambles of a commentary the uk really needs 2 find a couple of high quality new commentators from somewhere, hopefully ones without all the silly repetitive woke punch lines used nearly every race by the stewart machins and Mike Cattershits of this world
